How depressing:

Boston?s first splash in free agency could be Kevon Looney, per
@TheSteinLine
 &
@JakeLFischer

?It's believed that Looney is also on Boston's list of center targets, which is likewise known to feature former Celtics big man Robert Williams III. Yet don't forget that Knicks coach Mike Brown has a pre-existing relationship with Looney thanks to their time together in Golden State.?

I would not worry at all.  Those two just make everything up.

We might get Super Friends II although I don't see this one getting a title.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is declining his $27.7 million player option to become a free agent, sources tell ESPN. This move gives the Warriors flexibility to pursue LeBron James in free agency and Anthony Davis via trade to form a Big 4.

Nine-year NBA veteran Malik Beasley has been indicted on federal charges for gambling related to a sports betting scheme, such as point shaving and prop bets, his attorney Steve Haney tells ESPN. The government is coordinating a voluntary surrender of Beasley this week.

Yossi Gozlan‬: Houston Rockets salary cap situation with Fred VanVleet opting in. They can re-sign Tari Eason and offer Marcus Smart a significant portion of their non-tax mid-level exception while remaining under the first apron if they clear money first, such as Dorian Finney-Smith.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Does this need to get done before FA starts? I would think Brad needs to see what he brings in and then what he still needs.

I think the Denver deal with Murray and Johnson for Brown and Hauser works the best for this team that is in win now mode.

Murray
White
Johnson
JT
FA center

That is pretty good all things considering.

I have to say I do like that Jamal Murray & Derrick White backcourt alongside Tatum at PF. I have Queta at center. I am not wild about Cam Johnson at SF. I wonder if we could Peyton Watson or Aaron Gordon out of DEN instead. Even if we have to give up assets.

I am surprised how much I like J Murray on this team. Big guard reasonably versatile defensively. His shooting, ball-handling and passing would be a boon for the offense. He and D White complement each other extremely well. I am surprised at how good J Murray fits into this group. I like that.

I think Draymond is an MLE player at this point in his career. He was overpaid at high 20s million per year. Closer to $15mil. Maybe a bit above that in the high teens would be okay. But he should be below the $20mil mark. He is getting paid on reputation rather than on court performances.

Dorian Finney-Smith signed a 4 year, $52,705,000 contract with the Houston Rockets, including $26,035,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $13,176,250.

I did not realize that only the first 2 years of DFS' contract was guaranteed. Last 2 years non-guaranteed. So effectively he has only 1 guaranteed year left on his contract / is an expiring contract.

He could be a guy worth taking a swing on. If we don't like the long term options with our MLE / TPE, he could be a low risk option while preserving our cap flexibility moving forward.

If he gets back to the levels he had in the past, he would be an excellent 3+D forward who can backup Jaylen & Tatum. If he cannot get back to those levels, he is a 1yr contract who we get rid of in 12 months time.

DFS only managed to play in 37 games and was deep in the rotation at only 16 minutes per game.  And he stunk.  If the Rockets want to send something useful with his contract, I suppose, but the Celtics have probably 100 better options than just trading for him outright.  Look for DFS to just be waived and stretched if they do not find a trade partner.  I think the Celtics will be able to kick the tires on him as a free agent if they are so inclined, for a lot less money.

I feel the same.  I just want it to be over.

I do not think GS has great trade assets to get Davis.

Yeah.  A very underwhelming JB trade seems inevitable.
