Amick just posted an article where he includes that the Blazers are seen as the frontrunners to acquire Jaylen Brown. Bruh when will this end...  :(

Barry Jackson: For those asking about Anfernee Simons in the wake of Bobby Marks saying he would be perfect fit at the minimum for Heat, feedback I've received is that he will enter free agency looking for more than that, understandably (averaged 14.9 ppg, 38.1 on 3s in career). There are always players who fall through cracks and take minimums (like Hardaway with Denver last year, Oubre with 76ers two years ago, etc. etc.). Heat will be poised to pounce if the right player falls through the cracks.

The Heat are comical.

?The Celtics, per league sources, have been asking for up to four first-round picks; Portland is seen as the front-runner there.?

There are no protections on the picks swaps that Portland has with the Bucks in 28 and 30, making those picks pretty valuable - much more valuable than they were a week ago. I don't know how the new lottery rules might mitigate the value, but those picks aren't nothing.  I hope Brad holds out for Clingan, and hope that if he can't swing that (which I doubt he can) that he opts out of the deal. But would love to have those swaps.

Grant
Scoot
Sharpe
4 1's

Package Grant and picks for a big

I do think the real prize for Brad is Murphy. Somehow out of all of this carnage he has to find a way to get him.

And I think it needs to be done before FA...gotta know what you need

That package is underwhelming even with the four first rounders

Also how are they acquiring Trey Murphy, just with picks?

Clingan, Sharpe, Camara, and one of the future MIL swap rights.

Sharpe, the swap rights, and a future Celtic first goes to the Pelicans for Murphy.

Murphy, Camara, and Clingan would be starters immediately. We'd be one of the best defensive teams in the league. We'd be able to run 10 deep.

No way can it be Grant without Clingan.  Grant is 1-2 FRPs on his own to take on.  $70 million over two years for an often-injured player who is probably a reserve is not a movable contract.  If Clingan is off limits, then this should be our target:

Sharpe
Camara
Hansen
Krejči
Picks

Hopefully then it could be Sharpe, Hansen, and one pick to New Orleans for Murphy, leaving us with Murphy, Camara, and Krejči, as well as hopefully 3 picks, but at least two.  That leaves the team with two new starting wings to go next to Jaylen.  One an ascending scorer in Murphy, who could hopefully become a reliable #2 option.  The other a great 3&D guy.  The Celtics would have a $39 million TOE for Jaylen, the $15 million MLE, and about $27 million under the tax to do something with to get an upgrade at the 5 (at least an upgrade over Garza).

The Warriors are attempting to trade with the Wizards for Anthony Davis and then sign free agent LeBron James, per Yahoo Sports' @KevinOConnor.

Wow, GSW might actually be back in the mix if they acquire those two and keep Curry/Draymond/Horford/KP

In fact, league sources expect Morant to be traded this week.

Yahoo! Sports

Quote
League sources say multiple teams have put two first-round picks on the table for Murphy. Pelicans general manager Joe Dumars has been pushing for three firsts in discussions so far, and there is still a chance he gets there. But for now, teams appear to be holding firm at two.

Yahoo! Sports

I think someone will give NOP 3 firsts for Trey Murphy. He will be worth it too.

Quote
Mavericks president Masai Ujiri has interest in reuniting with Kawhi Leonard, multiple league sources with knowledge of Dallas? thinking told The Athletic.

The Mavericks and LA Clippers have discussed a deal that would send the seven-time All-Star Leonard to Dallas for a package that would include P.J. Washington, Klay Thompson and draft picks, league sources said.

New York Times

Kawhi would be a good teacher for Cooper Flagg. Just watching Kawhi every day. How he works. How gets to his spots and gets the shots he wants. That would help Flagg a lot.

Quote
League sources say John Collins certainly has fans in Minnesota, but it appears unlikely that the Timberwolves will have sufficient spending power to pursue the scoring forward, who spent last season with the Clippers.

Collins is also expected to draw interest from Orlando, San Antonio and Philadelphia once free agency begins. The 76ers and Western Conference champion Spurs continue to get linked in free agency projections to the top forwards in the marketplace.
