Tatum makes me nervous - in terms of the team's consistency.

A dodgy shooting night. 8-19 FGA and 1-2 FGA. 19pts on 20 possessions. His shooting has been inconsistent since his return. It was great to see him have a strong shooting night in Game 1.

But on nights where he struggles with his shot, he can be detriment to the team's offense and the rhythm they had prior to his return. He can still be a net positive due to his defense & rebounding but I did think his offense was hurting the team at times since his return.

I am expecting more of a bumpy post-season (for the team) if Tatum continues to be undependable with his shooting. Unexpected losses. Longer series.

Oh, I should say I don't think it will be much of an issue against this Philly team because they are not talented enough. But in Round 2, ECF, Finals - that is where I worry.

so joe refuses to TELL THE PLAYERS to play a balanced game?

ok so he hates mid range? ok fine.

what about points in the paint? high %?

we absolutely should have a inside game if his 3 system is failing.

so he has never learned anything?

This is what infuriates most here.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

Jaylen with 36pts. Tatum with 19pts.

Nobody else in double digits.

The rest of the team was 16-46 FGA (34.8% FG).
if no one else steps up, this team is dead in the water.

White, PP and Hauser all played like they did at the beginning of the season.  White's been awful most of the season but had improved lately.  he's looking like he's completely regressed

I'm ready to move on from White. He got his ring, and now he's regressed. It was his time to shine while Tatum was out but didn't step up when we needed him to. Just start a package for Giannis, involving White.

Pritchard was MIA tonight. I haven;t looked at box score but I would guess his points and turnovers were very close. When we can't hit 3s we are in trouble. The same play kept killing us the 3pt screen for Maxey or Edgecomd to a wide ope uncontested 3. How many times can that happen before we defend it?

My worry isn't with this series, but long term. We know what burned us last year in the postseason (dying by the 3). Today, they went 13-50 from 3 and lost by double digits while looking hopeless for a good chunk of the second half.

Do they have a strategy or way to win games if the 3s aren't falling? Or will they just continue to die by the 3. Because a team like New York or Cleveland will absolutely take avantage if that happens, just like the Knicks last year and the Heat in 2023.

I think they just lose those games.

Hard to win in the NBA nowadays when you shoot only 26% from 3. Only real chance is the other team shoots badly too.

Not sure what happened to my post but Pritchard was awful. How many times can they run the same exact play and give Edgecomb and Maxey the screen to a wide open 3 before we defend it?

Pritchard's turnovers and no offense hurt. We have to turn this around on Friday.

They stayed in deep drop coverage all night because they didn't want Maxey or Edgecombe to get to the rim. They were probably banking on them missing their 3s and they didn't.

PP had 4 points 5 assists 1 turnover and was a -15.

It's fine in a regular season, but in a 7-game series the margin for error is far less and even dropping just 2 games in that fashion could be enough to cost you.

Maybe they needed to get kicked in the sack to focus them. I just don't understand why it always has to be game 2 at home.

Not gonna lie, i felt like this from time to time this season. Not only did he shoot terribly this year but his shot selection was awful. Career low FG% and lowest 3pt% since coming to boston. He shouldve been a 20ppg player this season but refused to step up in Tatums absence.
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

It?s not about refusing.  Ain?t a decision on his part.  Guys are good at what they?re good at and consistent volume scoring just isn?t White?s game.

Those offseason subtractions to get under the cap didn?t just go away because we had a good year.  This is still an incomplete roster that needs another piece or two.  That?s why I still view this playoff run as house money tbh.

Edit:  Why does posting on mobile turn all of my apostrophes into question marks?  Is there anything I can do to fix that short of getting on desktop?

Brown dribbled around though he saw Q with a mismatch down low. If it was KP Brown would have passed it to him. Instead he just launched and missed a long shot.
We have Q and Vuc who should've feasted on smaller players inside but are somehow underutilized. The C's passing and dribbling create that mismatch but our players refused to take advantage.

that's not typical of the season with JB and Q but Vuc has been a mess since joining the team.  his supposed plus is rebounding and scoring but he's not really providing either, especially the scoring
