AL bracket is so whacked.  You'll have those three beating the heck out of each other. Meanwhile, someone out of the slop that is the AL Central & West is guaranteed to be in the ALCS.

The 3rd wildcard could have a path to the ALCS that goes through 2 teams that are under .500 (more likely 2 teams barely over .500) while the 1st and 2nd wildcards have a ridiculously difficult potential path. I like having division winners get automatic playoff berths but the automatic #2/3 seeds are crap.

Even looking at it from the #1 seed perspective, they'll be facing a much better team than the #2 seed will. That's terrible seeding.

Willson Contreras may have a broken hand after a HBP. Feels like Curtis Mead all over again..

Contreras had to leave the club's series finale against the Texas Rangers on Thursday night after getting hit by a pitch on his hand. At the time, it was reported that his X-rays came back negative, but there was still some fear. Contreras himself spoke about the injury and said that it felt like a fracture while citing the fact that he previously had one.

Now, of course, it would've been great to see Contreras in Boston's lineup on Friday, but he hasn't been ruled out for the weekend and Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy shared that no new scans are currently planned, as shared on X by MassLive.com's Sean McAdam.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Interesting projections from CBS Sports.....Sox beat the Yanks, then beat the Rays, then beat Cleveland but lose in the World Series to the Brewers....If they make it to the Series they will win it and keep the Brewers from winning their first title.

Brewer fan here.  The Sox are more than welcome to get to the Series but if the Brewers finally make it, the Brewers [dang] well better win their first series

Brewers making past the Dodgers would be something else...but unfortunately I think Dodgers go on a 3peat

Bello throws an absolute masterpiece with 11 Ks and 1 RA over 8 innings, but the bats stayed quiet and Whitlock blows it in the bottom of the 9th for a 2-1 loss. That's just heartbreaking for Bello, but a great sign that he might really be back as a starter
