JB got a pretty good whistle last night and is still grousing.  I know, squeaky wheel gets greased and all that, but I wonder if there comes a point where it goes the other direction and refs put a target on his back instead.

I love the guy but I wouldn't mind if JB just let his play talk for him for a while.  Seems like he has a new sound bite after every game lately, most of it complaining about one thing or another.  At the very least, I can do without any more meltdowns that get him thrown out of games, whether they're technically "justified" or not.

My takeaway from the last two games? Despite some BS from the refs and frustrating moments on the court, this team hung in there with the two best teams in the West on the road, without Jaylen for the 2nd half in SA and 3 main players in the OKC game including Tatum. Also with Vucevic out.

The depth on this team is a lot better than recent years and we got guys who can come off the bench and actually make plays or impact games.

I was still very encouraged by the team despite losing the two, and I guess 1-2 on the road against CLE-SAS-OKC is acceptable.

And we don't have to worry about OKC/SAS until a potential Finals. But this team with Tatum back and Vucevic in April are definitely up there as the favorites to come out of the East, even over NY/DET. Meanwhile the West will be a bloodbath and will take care of itself.

Yup.  Just stay healthy.

I just want to say to everyone who participates in game threads that I really appreciate the general acceptance of dissenting opinions. I sometime comment on CelticsBlog, and they really hammer me any time I say anything critical. Perhaps sometimes I vent a bit too much, but you all are generally fine with it, unlike the sunshine-and-lollipops crowd over at CB.

Some of the Celticsblog members are chill and I've known them for a while (online) and are the "veterans". But yeah I have also noticed, it seems in recent years there's also a lot of new posters who are quick to attack you, or if you disagree with them on something they just rip you lol. I myself don't really care most of the time and find it amusing, but I'm sure others who are a bit more sensitive to that kind of thing can take it hard. I'm sure some of that has also scared away posters I know who used to post often.

I agree though, I think all of us here generally respect everyone's opinions or thoughts on the GDT or general posts. I also like that it feels like a more tight-knit group here. I'm sure Celticsblog and even Reddit just have a ton of people including trolls that make life difficult for the mods or "higher ups".

I forget how many years it?s been since this site branched off on its own, but it?s been quite a while and we haven?t had the capacity to add new members, so we?re all kinda getting old together here lol.

It is definitely a unique environment for that dynamic.

Game threads here back in the day got pretty toxic.  We ended up having to add a function where we could ban users from the game threads.  There were some really annoying folk in those threads.

Yeah it's also possible a lot of people have no clue about this website lol. I don't mind lol, I think this (and the reddit page) are a good community and it's fine even if we just add our friends/relatives  :)

There are a few on those blogs that have been there for a while, including mycelts I think (the guy that writes those long poems), but then there's a bunch I've never seen before who also are quick to attack or disagree strongly with something and let you know it.

I just also think it's the new hot take culture which has gotten extreme. Like if I post some detailed/thorough reply on there, it'll mostly get ignored or some will still disagree, while someone who just says "trade Tatum" will get rec'd to green somehow...

I seldomly go on CB. Sometimes more so to 'troll' around. I remember CS branched off from CB during the Tacko Fall days...I remember that from the home page image ahaha. I know nick is in there.

As for Pats Pulpit, similar experience but I'm more active in there nowadays.

Yeah I go to Pats Pulpit often especially during the season. I think their GDTs are pretty good, there is always 1 or 2 guys who are clearly trolling or the most negative person ever, but it's obvious and typically everyone is aware and gangs up on them lol if they say something out of character. The mods do a good job there as well.
