What is the criteria on that? Like what factors are considered?

That?s his list for the top 10 QBs in the league going into this season. What is your order?
Still doesn't clear it up. Is it the 10 best? The 10 that will have the best statistical seasons? The 10 most talented? The top 10 QB's in MVP voting?  The 10 most likely to win a Superbowl?  I mean there are so many different ways you can look at this.  I didn't hear the segment so I don't know what his criteria were, so it is hard to say what I'd change.

Top 10 best QBs in the league.
top 4 still the same for me as theyve been for several years, but I would move Allen up to 1.

Allen, Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow - in order

More difficult after that, but Stafford seems like the easy choice at 5.

I am shocking myself with this one, but I think Darnold is 6.  His last 2 years have been awesome and he is the defending champion.

Hurts at 7.  Winning has to be a factor and he outplayed Mahomes in both their superbowls.

Last 3

Stroud, Lawrence, Goff - all have muti-year success and recent playoff wins

I need to see more from Daniels, Maye, and Williams.  Each have had 1 good year, if they get a 2nd one this year, they all move up a lot.  Love and Prescott are sort of just meh for me.  Baker and Herbert are too inconsistent.  Jones, I need another great year to take seriously.

Ryan Clark on today's segment predicts that the New England Patriots will not only have a difficult schedule, but will miss the playoffs.

Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per

In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns.

So much for that Pats idea.

Wow, that's crazy. Rams must be going all-in for potentially Stafford's final year.

Also it's funny, the Rams have only made two first round selections in the last 10 years, with the rest of them being traded away in deals. Now it's about to be two in 11 years, and maybe more  :P

In addition to DE Jared Verse and #Rams 2027 1st round pick, I?m told #Browns will get LAs 2028 2nd round pick and 2029 3rd round pick as part of the framework of this blockbuster trade for Myles Garrett

So Verse, 2027 1st, 2029 3rd + 2028 2nd rounder? For Myles Freakin' Garrett? What are the Browns doing. How did they not get back at least another 1st rounder. Some of those picks are very likely to be at the very end of the rounds too.

What a bad return for Browns unless the future 2nd and 3rd can turn into 1st's I have no idea what they are doing.

My guess?  They see Verse as a long-time starter making peanuts compared to Garrett, and then expect that they'll be able to land three starters with the picks.  They're rebuilding, and in 2-3 years when they're ready to compete they think the new starters and the cap space will be worth more than an aging Garrett.

But, it's less than what the Cowboys got for Parsons, and arguably less than the Raiders got for Crosby before that deal was voided (due to the premium nature of the Ravens pick).  That's tough to swallow for a generational pass rusher.

I see no issue with trading him, it is the return.  It is terrible.  There isnt a single Cleveland radio personality that likes the trade. Even the one ok woth trading Garrett are gobsmacked.  Verse is a fine player, but this is a terrible return.

I don't understand football contracts.  But this is the summary:

Quote
Myles Garrett signed a 4 year, $160,000,000 contract with the Cleveland Browns, including $21,541,125 signing bonus, $123,596,125 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $40,000,000. In 2026, Garrett will earn a base salary of $1,300,000 and a signing bonus of $29,200,000, while carrying a cap hit of $8,140,000 and a dead cap value of $73,203,875.

He will be 35 in the final year of the contract.  It seems likely that the last season or two of his contract will not be a good deal for the team.  That is the risk anyway.

Verse is a first round pick so the net is the equivalent of 2-firsts, 1-second, 1-third.  I don't know, I could see this working out for CLE.  Knowing CLE, it probably won't, Garrett will stay healthy, but there is plenty of risk that he won't.

His cap hits are pretty modest thru 2028.  Then it jumps to $42M in 2029 and $49M in 2030.  Mix of his base salary jumping up to $10M and jumps in his option bonus.
