If it's not Friday, then it's probably 3/14 which is the next home game and a soft landing spot.

If it's not 3/14, then I start to get iffy. I will say though, it's getting kind of annoying if they just drag this out to mid-March without an update especially with all the other things they are doing like the docuseries, etc.

Who is ?they?? I feel like the Celtics have been notably boring and consistent with their messaging since Day1.

Tatum has been out there occasionally doing stuff, which is his right.

But the recent excitement and anticipation is mostly self-imposed by fans.

And the media, particularly with the NBC documentary.

And Tatum, who went on ESPN first take last year and basically said that he?s trying to come back this season.

-I?m not working out 6 days a week for nothing-. Plus releasing videos of him working out/dunking on IG. Then the docuseries..Celtics organization as well. Releasing photos of him practicing over the last few weeks.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

He doesn't have to announce what date he's coming back, but they've been hyping it up the past few weeks and Tatum has even said his goal was around his birthday and in a home game. If he's ruled out for Friday, I think there will be a bunch of fans who start to get irritated by the saga since it means he's not coming back until mid-March. JT could have just come out and said he's continuing to work, but he's been silent while all this is festering (as well as the documentary + media reports)

It's getting to be a bit much. Maybe I'm in the minority though who feels that way.

And while the messaging was mostly boring, it definitely hasn't been in the last 3 weeks. Even C's twitter is playing with it

I am getting more and more concerned he is going to rush back, drop into a title chase, and overdo it to the point he hurts himself badly again.  Sort of like KD and Klay did when the Warriors were hinting titles.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I'm fine with him coming back 3/14 or 3/16. But I do think the recent messaging from JT and Celtics media is acting like it'll happen this Friday, even though I'm sure deep down they know it isn't. Not sure why they feel the need, just come out and say JT will take a little more time.

ESPN NBA insider Tim MacMahon delivered an optimistic update on Jayson Tatum's status on Wednesday, insisting that the Boston Celtics superstar's return is inevitable this season.

A matter of when, not if, MacMahon stated on Get Up regarding Tatum's timeline for rejoining the lineup.

Don't you think they are guessing like the rest of us?   I know Bill Simmons put this out there.
