The Brooklyn Nets are waiving Cam Thomas, allowing the scoring guard to enter free agency, sources tell ESPN. The Nets made the decision to allow Thomas to find a new home.

There?s your Simons bench scoring replacement. Not sure it?s worth the trouble, though.

I mean if Mazzula can get Simmons to try and play the best defense of his career, why not for a vet min?   (if they really want Pritchard back in the starting lineup)

And we already have a Simons bench scoring replacement...his name is Payton Pritchard  :police:

I'd be fine adding Cam Thomas. Any of Middleton, Conley or Thomas as a cheap depth buyout addition is fine by me. Harper can be signed with the last remaining spot. The team is about 1.7M over the tax anyways and well under the first apron so that part doesn't matter much

Bizarre indeed. He is 24 too. They could not find a trade partner? Or are they tanking hard now for the 1st pick?

I think it would be easier to list the team that would not be interested in signing Thomas rather than listing the ones who would be. He will be a hot commodity for sure. I?ll be surprised if the Celts can get him. Unless theres a major personality issue there I don?t know about.

He could veto any trade.  He and the organization hate each other at this point, so I would not at all be surprised to learn that he did veto a trade and they just decided to move on.  But also he has the worst attitude, and has since college, so I cannot imagine there were too many teams lining up.

Mike Conley has officially been waived.

I like him as a veteran presence, but he'd be an end of bench player for us.

I'm not sure if his trades were structured as one deal or two.  If two, my guess is that he ends up back in Minnesota.
