Are the first round picks the Wizards or did they acquire from someone else? Is there protection with them? If those are unprotected Wizards picks, they could be valuable.

And they said Nico Harrison was a bad GM lol.

The 2026 first round pick is essentially a second rounder because Oklahoma City will finish with the best record in the NBA.

Given Cooper Flagg is on his rookie contract, there was no upcoming cap issues. Dallas have salary dumped Davis for no logical reason, horrible trade.

Wizards making this trade without giving up Coulibaly, Johnson, George, Bubb, or Carr is pretty impressive.

They suddenly have an interesting core. Good for them!

Are any (or most) of those guys that are heading to Dallas expiring contracts?

If I'm not mistaken, the only guy headed to Dallas with a cap hit beyond this offseason is AJ Johnson, and he's cheap.  So from a cap reset standpoint, Dallas did its job.  In a vacuum this isn't a terrible trade for them.  Of course, moves aren't made in a vacuum.

And looks like the other 1st rounder is a protected GS pick.

Dallas does not have control over their own pick (after this season) until 2031, salary dumping Davis is incredibly idiotic.

I'd like to officially announce the "Watch Cooper Flagg Club because Dallas is a Terrible Organization and He Grew Up Loving the Celtics" club.

So Dallas traded Luka for a broken down Middleton and 2 firsts. Yikes!

Talk about a deal / plan falling apart in 12 months.

I like it for Washington.

That is a fun team. AD + Trae complement each other well. That is a nice 1-2 punch. Alex Sarr will fit well next to AD. AD is someone he can learn from. They have a good forward in Kyshawn George. A nice backup guard in Bub Carrington. That is a good team with the potential to become a high level team.

I'd love to see them follow through and trade away some of these other young pieces who are not ready to play on a high level team. Bilal Coulibaly and Tre Johnson would be top my list for trade bait. Bring in a quality starting SG. Start building a bench. Replace the youth on the bench with vets. You could have a very strong team in the East next season.

G: Trae Young, Bub Carrington
G: Tre Johnson
F: Kyshawn George, Bilal Coulibaly
F: Alex Sarr
C: Anthony Davis

Being traded to the Wizards, where careers end up dying or in the garbage.

But Dallas is how you go from a championship team to a dumpster fire in one year

Washington has not been the same since the 2017 East semis.

So basically its Kelly Olynyk's fault.
