Really good thing that the Mavs won the lottery with that 1% chance.  ;)

Well played, Mr. Silver.

Orlando paid more for Desmond Bane.

Neat play by Washington.  Sit Davis and Young the rest of the year, and bring them back next year with a top pick in a year with a great top 5 players.

Too bad for them they gave up on Avidja a year too early.

I guess DAL got Christie too so that counts for something

And Cooper Flagg. Oh, right. That was just luck of the draw. Nothing to see here!

Two firsts for AD? That's all?

On the other side of things, is there a more Wizardsy move than trading for an injury-prone star just cresting out of his prime?

Yes Trae Young and AD have their flaws/injury issues. But imagine being a Wizards fan having no hope and not much, and now you just suddenly have two star-caliber players and some better depth overall

I like that for the Wizards tbh.

They have picked up two oft-injured stars and really didn't lose anything painful in the process.  Trae Young, Tre Johnson, Kyshawn George, Anthony Davis, Alex Sarr is a nice blend of young talent, veteran mentorship and complementary skillsets.  Add a very good pick in a strong draft this offseason.  Could use more perimeter defense but that's not too difficult to find.  Best case, Young and AD get healthy enough for them to be sneakily competitive while developing the young cats as winners instead of losers.  Worst case, AD is mostly cooked but is still a very good model for Sarr to study for a few years.

I can dig it.  I'm not used to the Wizards looking like they have a plan, whether it works or not.  Good for them.

Are any (or most) of those guys that are heading to Dallas expiring contracts?
