I like this a lot. I've wanted Vucevic here for years, and while he may not be the same all-star calibre player he once was, he is still a very skilled and well-rounded offensive player with good BBIQ and is a big, strong body. He can rebound at a high level, he can bang inside, he can score in the post and shoot the three, and a good passing big too.
I feel like he can bring a lot of the Al Horford dynamic on the offensive end, even though he's obviously not on Horford's level defensively.
I'm not as concerned about the loss of Simon's offensive. Simons was averaging 20.8 points, 3.5 assists. 3.5 per 36 on 44% / 38% / 89% shooting. Vucevic this season has averaged 19.7 points, 10.5 reb, 4.4 ast per 36 on 50% / 38% / 84% shooting.
Simon's is definitely a much stronger ISO scorer and a more dynamic shot creator, but Vucevic is no slouch as a scorer either, is significantly more efficient, and contributes a lot more outside of just scoring.
What kind of move do we make for a PG now? If White or PP gets hurt (or takes a night off), we're awfully thin. What's happening with Conley?
I could see us potentially starting Vucevic and Queta together as a double-big lineup. They are both quality rebounders and I feel like they their skills sets are complimentary - Vucevic brings the more rounded offensive game, while Queta can handle the rim protection and is athletic enough to guard quicker bigs.
C: Vucevic
PF: Queta
SF: Brown
SG: White
PG: Pritchard
Once Tatum returns that could mean moving Pritchard back to a 6th man role, where he's always been pretty effective.
