Okay, so a lot of fans really like Hugo (me included) to the point that they refuse to include him in any trade talks. We?ve seen flashes of his game, and he does a little bit of everything. So how good can he be? Can he be our Josh Hart?

He?s going to need to learn how to shoot. Love the energy, though. He plays hard.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I've said since summer league - Hugo reminds me of Dan Majerle. Similar body type & athleticism. Similar motor. Similar rebounding. Similar ball-handling and passing. Similar slashing to the basket. Majerle had the perimeter shot while Hugo's shot is still a work in progress. 2 time All-Star. Would have made more ASG's if injuries hadn't of slowed him down.

In terms of willingness to trade Hugo - for a star player / core piece, I would make him available. Short off that I would keep him off the table.

His instincts are amazing for someone his age. And he seems to elevate the team when he is out there.

He doesn?t yet have one particular skill that is ?elite? (nearly no rookies do) ? but if he continues to develop he almost certainly will be ?regular starter? caliber soon.

Tough to say what his ceiling is until we know what his ?elite? skill might become.

I think one of his elite skills will become defensive rebounding.  He has a nose for the ball.

I see a little bit of Iguodala in him. Defense, work ethic, feel for the game all at a high level. Potentially 5th starter or 6th man on a title team. Can coexist with anyone.

I have been following the Cs and the league since Russell's last year  -  I would not trade him.

I have a higher ceiling for him than most seem to be indicating.  He is only 19 (will be 20 Feb 5).  Still can't even go out for a drink.  He is 6'-6" and has NBA athleticism.  I see Derrick White as his ceiling.

White is 6'-4" and has similar athleticism.  In his rookie season, at age 23, White hardly made an impact.  Far less than what Hugo has done in his rookie season at age 19.  The sample size for Hugo is not all that small at this point.  39 games, 2 starts, about 15 min per, 51% FG overall, 38% from 3.  FTs are an issue (53%), but I am not too worried about that, he should be able to figure that out.  I am not sure how this says "can't shoot".

Ceiling is a tricky thing.  You never know.  I have been wrong many times.  All the GMs and Coaches have been wrong many times.  Some players come out of nowhere and become good, some project to be good and never get there for whatever reason.  Others turn out exactly how you expect.  But I like what I see in Hugo.  He is not going to become Derrick White overnight, but I see plenty to like and plenty of reason to believe he can be an NBA starter.

I don't think I'd put a ceiling on him.

But the highest compliment I can give is that I think he will be able to play big minutes in the playoffs on a contender.
