Something I find kind of funny. The Knicks are the 2 seed, and they are 13-6. Only 2.5 ahead of Boston at 11-9. That's a commentary on the East
Stretch that out and NYK is on pace for 56 wins, BOS only 45. If the pace holds, it will look much more representative by the end of the season.
Oh I agree. It'll average out. But that said I just don't view the top teams in the East as "unbeatable". Like you looked at those Cavaliers teams with Lebron, Bucks with prime Giannis/Jrue/Middleton, even the Heat with Butler/Bam and felt those were gonna be very tough and it ran through them even if they weren't the 1 seed. I don't feel that way with NY/DET this year, and CLE/ORL have been a bit inconsistent to start too. It's an open conference. Might literally come down to some injury luck and matchups
That is sure what it seems like. Injuries always play a role. I have a feeling though, that some of these teams thought to be better will start to rise to the top. NYK, CLE, maybe even MIL if Giannis can stay healthy. But a lot can change.
Idk even with Giannis that team just seems a little off. You may be right but something smells there, they've been dropping games even to really bad teams too.
I ultimately think the Top-4 in some order will be NY/CLE/ORL/DET, but I will admit Miami has surprised me. Powell has been a great addition for them and they have some solid depth to go along with a great coach and it's showing so far this season.
