The Bulls are reportedly looking to pick up draft assets this deadline, and Ayo Dosunmu is a name mentioned.  I have no idea what his value is, because he's a pending free agent.

Would this trade be worth it?

Dosunmu + Vucevic for Simons + Tillman + two of BOS #1 / NOP #2 / MIL #2

Vucevic is not a winning player and never has been.

I like Dosunmu, but that's too much assets to give up. Simons is the best player in the trade.

How about Naz Reid? I know he's a good rotation player for the Wolves, but he's the real asset they have to get another guard that can score and shoot.

I've wondered about Simons for Reid. They also may want to get a replacement big back. I don't know if that can be worked into a third team.

If they sent Conley and Dillingham to a third team and got back a backup center and Simons, would they be a better team?

I freaking love Naz Reid.

I don't think the Twolves have any desire to move him unless it's in a package for Giannis.

Just want to put it out there that Jalen Smith might be the most overrated player on these forums.  He is not a good enough shooter to take over half of his shots from 3, and this is coming from someone who loves the 3.

I'm going to brace myself for the backlash on this, but "just for fun"... how about Gobert?

Talk about a guy who's stock plummeted the last few years, but he still has insane length and defensive ability -- and might make our already good defense elite? He makes $35M which you could match with Simons and filler (say Tillman and Boucher). Minnesota can promote Reid to full-time starter.

Like I said, there's lots not to like about Gobert these days (33 and well paid, can't shoot)... but man our defense could be interesting with a DPOY level center? Or has he completely fallen off on that aspect too?

I'm curious to see what KP's market is going to be this summer.  I'd love to see him back on a small contract.  The guy was born to be a Celtic.

His health issues are why we could potentially get a $30+ million talent for $10 million or so.

I'd love to have Gobert here.

I fail to see a trade that would entice Minnesota though. Gobert is very important to their defense. It falls apart whenever Gobert goes off the floor. Naz Reid can't be a starting center. He is not a good enough team defender.

Gobert + Naz = very good defense
Gobert + Randle = very good defense
Naz + Randle = bad defense

Minnesota can't compete without Gobert.

Fully agree. Smith has size and strength but very little skill. I would go for Day?Ron Sharpe as long as he understands he is 2nd string to Queta. That moves Luka to 3rd string and A.Williams 4th string. This is a much more appropriate pecking order of centers.

Jalen Smith is 6?8 and 215lbs. He is smaller than Tatum. Smith is not a C. I?d be happy with Sharpe, though.

Those numbers seem wrong to me. I thought he was 6-10. He looks 6-10. Or at least 6-9.

(1) B-ref.com has those numbers.

(2) NBA.com has 6-8 with 244lbs.

(3) His pre-draft measurements have this

Quote
Jalen Smith?s 2020 NBA Draft combine measurements were approximately 6'9.25" barefoot (6'10.25" in shoes), 225 lbs, and a 7'2.25" wingspan. He also recorded a 9'2" standing reach. Known as a versatile forward/center

NBA.com and ESPN both have him at 6?8
