Brooklyn's Nic Claxton is expected to generate incoming calls to the rebuilding Nets about Claxton's availability.

Phoenix has made Nick Richards available for trade since this past summer, league sources say. I've also been told that Portland is forecasted to be more willing to move Robert Williams III this season compared to last season.

Jusuf Nurkić, meanwhile, has performed well enough in Utah that he's also expected to generate some interest from rival teams.

One final name to consider from the Big Man Market: Orlando's Jonathan Isaac.

Centers expected to be available on the trade market include:

Nic Claxton
Robert Williams III
Nick Richards
Jonathan Isaac
Jusuf Nurkic

Slim pickings.

Are any of these options actually better than Queta?  Maybe Claxton, but is he worth $20M-$25M for the next 3 seasons?  He is shooting better FT% this season which is huge for him.

Claxton or Vucevic would be nice.

Zubac IF he's made available, or maybe they try for him next offseason if LAC decides to blow it up

We do need a Horford or Kornet replacement. Whatever you take of Queta's role once Tatum returns.

Are there any centers out there who can successfully:

-Play impact defense
-Rebound well
-Hit 30% of their threes
-Play the pick and roll well
-Stay healthy

If so, please get them. Feels like all the guys named check only some of those four boxes.

Yeah, Claxton seems a little overpaid. He would offer a good alternative to Queta in the rotation. Claxton could play 24 minutes & Queta the other 24.

Trade Idea

Boston Celtics: Nic Claxton

Brooklyn Nets: Simons, Gonzalez, Tillman

That is more than I would give up.  Simons and Tillman, sure, but Gonzalez is looking like he has some real ceiling.  BKN probably doesn't do it straight up for Simons, so we would likely need to include a future first or something.

I wonder if the Celtics would trade Simons + Hauser + 1-2 second rounders to BKN for Claxton, with the logic also being it puts them under the tax. That saves them 13M, which BKN can absorb as they have the space, and will get back some seconds to facilitate, and that 13M savings puts us under while also getting us a center long term

I'm curious about what Chicago wants for Vucevic.  He seems like a nice stop gap for a couple of years.  I assume we could resign him.

Would four second rounders do it?-

------------------------------------------------------------

BOS trades:  Simons, Scheierman, Tilman, four #2s
BOS receives:  Vucevic

CHI trades:  Vucevic
CHI receives:  Nurkic, two #2s

UTA trades:  Nurkic
UTA receives:  Simons, two #2s, Scheierman, Tilman

We then sign two free agents.

I think this would serve two goals in getting us a capable center, and getting us below the luxury tax.

Not sure who I?d want to start - Claxton v. Queta.  Q continues to play well.
