on the plus side, it's easily Baylor's best game this year.

i had hoped that scheierman would pan out into a rotation player. offensively he has a range of talents. all he had to do was get his defense up to "hauser" level and he would be a decent nba player. maybe his 3 point shot will finally click now.

p.s. on a bright note, toronto up 3-0 on the evil LA dodgers. but lots of innings left.

I think Scheierman's shot is just as big of a problem as his defense is. If he was shooting the ball at Hauser level, he'd be a rotation player in the NBA even with his bad defense.

He has two problems he has to fix (1) improve D despite bad physical gifts (2) make his shot consistent / reliable.

Currently, without either of those things, he is not even an NBA caliber player. Nevermind a rotation player.

I actually think his defense is fine-ish.  He's a negative on the ball but his floor awareness off the ball makes up for that a bit.  He has a good sense for jumping in passing lanes and generating deflections.  Not a good defender, but playable if the other skills were up to par.

Completely agree that the shot is a problem, and I'd add that his apparent belief that he's in the game to be a gunslinger is an equal problem.  IMO he needs to be a poor man's Jingles - a low-volume offensive player who makes the right connective plays and can acceptably run decent offense for a bench unit.  I thought coming into the league that he had the passing chops to do something like that but he hasn't successfully leveraged that in the NBA.  We don't need another guy who fires whenever he has the ball.  We already have a couple of those.

Obviously Houston's up 26 and have overwhelmed us all game, but a 26-2 FT differential? Jesus...

After three straight, it?s a good reminder not to get delusional about where the Cs are. The gap between them and contenders is significant. It was exacerbated by the schedule a bit but easy to see what the gap in talent and in size really looks like.  Adding JT back will help a ton, but I think last night illustrates that the Cs will need more than that to get back to contender status. 

Biggest surprise on the downside continues to be DWhite.  He?s not dealing well with the extra attention he?s getting.  Forcing shots and missing good looks.  More than anyone, he needs JT back.

First game in years that I just couldn?t watch the second half. Granted, there was a game 7 World Series on, but it was just unwatchable.
I don?t understand the lack of any kind of rotation. Guys go in and out like it?s a pickup game at the Y. How is anyone supposed to get into the flow of the game.
White and Prichard have regressed this year. I was expecting more from them. Brown is what he is, an excellent player with warts. He?s going to turn the ball over a lot, and has suspect handle.
Also, the refs blowing the whistle Houston all game didn?t make it any more watchable.
They could at least be entertaining. Keeps up like this, I might have to cancel league pass. Don?t want to pay to watch this mess

Missed the game but the tank's back on? 

Hah!  I guess it's on after every loss! It will be a while before I start rooting for losses but that will definitely happen if the C's are winning 40% rather than 50% of games, and we are in contention for top 10 in the draft.  If looking at .500 or better, it will be a different mindset - get JT back; deadline moves...   Time will tell.

Houston was definitely a worse case scenario matchup for the Celtics current roster and performance level.  Their size, physicality and tenacious ball hawking made life near impossible for a team that doesn?t have much ball handling skills or it?s shooters aren?t shooting well (not even going to talk about the other end of the court). 

Houston?s just a much better team at this point and it showed.

C's need an enforcer....we lack a tough guy on this team....I guess we love being bullied.
