Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups will not be paid while on leave of absences from their teams, sources tell ESPN. Both of their paychecks are expected to be withheld and placed in escrow, pending outcome of FBI cases.

Barry Jackson: Heat will need to patiently wait for what could be 'special' cap relief. This suggests NBA might be inclined to allow this case to go to trial instead of voiding Rozier contract and removing salary from Heat books. But league hasn't clarified that. All parties declining comment.

I wouldn't jeopardize my career for $12k, and that money would be a lot more meaningful.

You?d almost wonder if there?s more to it, maybe they?re in debt or someone?s got something on them because the pay off compared to what they?re risking is just way too high, gamblers are gamblers but even the dumbest gambler knows what he?s risking versus what he?s winning.

sounds like Clase is much more involved than that 12k.  Apparently been doing it for years and having people bet for him. He brought Ortiz in this season.
