Random but interesting stat.  TP if you can get the other 5.

Jaylen Brown is averaging 29.2 PPG, 7.0 RPG, and 4.9 APG this season.

Listed at 6?6?, only five other players that tall or shorter have put up those numbers.

Westbrook has to be on there.  Jordan. Oscar.

Correct on those three.

Did The Logo have a good rebounding year or two?

Correct. Twice.  '61-62 & '65-66.  Who mentioned him before but didn't exactly sound like a guess.

One more to go.

I am thinking the last is probably also from the 60s when the pace and minutes were high and shooting percentages low, creating opportunities for do-it-all stat lines, but I cannot think of a player to guess.

Does Wilt make the list?

I am thinking he was below the scoring the mark when he was leading the league in assists.

I would hope Wilt the Stilt was taller than 6?6?, which I though was a criteria.

Correct.  6'6" or shorter.

Ah, I forgot that part. My bad.

I was surprised Drexler didn't make it. He never had the scoring. He topped out at 27ppg. Also he was 6 foot 7 so he would have been scratched for that anyway.

Charles Barkley

Feels like a cheat name because he is not a guard or wing but a 6-4 (or 6-6) PF. So Chuck makes the cut for the height requirement despite being a big man / power player / interior player.

Update: Dang! He didn't have the scoring. 28.4ppg was his career high and he did not have the assists that year. 27.6ppg was high with the 4+ assists.

Okay. so my next line of guesses ...

Billy Cunningham or Rick Barry. Barry would be 6-7 so he would just miss out. Billy Cunningham was only 6-5 but I am not sure he has the scoring. I think of him more as a 25ppg peak level scorer.

Which made me think of Elgin Baylor. It's gotta be Elgin. He would easily have the scoring & rebounding. He would have the assists too. He was 6-5.

-------------------

Which also makes me wonder about Hondo. He's gotta be close to those numbers in the early 70s.

Update: Hondo topped out at 28.9ppg. So he just misses the scoring cut off point. He had 9rpg and 7.5apg that season. 1970-71.

I got the basketball era correct at least.

I agree with the comments above - definitely take the path we?ve been on over a down year, gap year, tank year.  Indy has had additional injuries but they weren?t going anywhere without Haliburton.  If they get the number one or two and they pick up a superstar in the making, I suppose the down year will have been well worth it, but I?d much rather have the year we?ve had.  Cs don?t have that superstar in waiting youth that I?m a little jealous of with other teams, but we?re in contention every year and it?s great that we?ll be a contender for at least a few more.  Hopefully some of our youth will continue to progress into solid rotation players for years to come.

Hah! I hope so.   I don?t put it past him, but I more expect a solid rotation contributor.  But will be thrilled if he pulls a Payton Pritchard and gets better, and better, and better.

Hugo is only 20 years 19 days (Only 19 at the start of the season).  Pritchard was 23 his rookie season (22 at the start).  Hugo has a 3+ year head start on him.

Well, let?s hope he learns how to shoot.

Well, let's hope he learns how to shoot.

Pritchard was a much more developed player as a rookie at age 22 than Hugo was/is as rookie starting at age 19.  But Pritchard even at that age, did not have nearly the physicality that Hugo does at 19.  At 19, Hugo could defend anyone on the floor, short of bigs.  I see a very high ceiling for Hugo.

You never know of course.  Some, if not many, young players with NBA physicality plateau along the way.  They never develop the scoring touch or overall vision to reach a higher level.  I like what I see in Hugo though.  I predict he surpasses Pritchard.  I see more Derrick White as his likely ultimate comparable.

Derrick White as a 23 year old rookie only played 17 games for SAS.  At age 24, he started 55 games, shooting 34% from 3.  I predict that by age 24, Hugo will be well ahead of this.  White was one of those guys that just kept improving, Hugo might not.  But right now, he is well ahead of Derrick White.  At age 20, White was a Division II player, he was not banging with NBA vets.
