I agree with what the others in this thread seem to be saying. Basically, give it to the end of the calendar year and assess what the Celtics have shown after 30-35 games.

If they look like a team that doesn't have much room for growth, start scheduling some losses and assessing what to do with Simons.

I don't know about scheduling losses, there are 9 or 10 teams that are behind BOS in the standings now and no way that will change.  So the absolute best BOS can hope for is to go into the lottery around the 10th slot.  The way things are going, they will probably end up somewhere 12-16.  There will be days off for Brown and probably White (a few games off might be something that would do White some good).

As to assessing Simons, I don't think anything has changed.  I think BOS would trade him tomorrow if someone made a good offer, but more likely, the assessment period will continue.  The whole league is assessing him.  I see it as likely he gets traded at some point.  There is no rush.  It isn't like he is creating a bunch of wins.

Looks like Amari is joining the big team vs Detroit tomorrow. I hope Joe gives him some run. Let?s see what the rook can do.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Tough stretch for the Cs coming up: Pistons, T-Wolves, Cavs, Knicks.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.
