The recent playa of the Celtics wing prospects including Minott, Walsh, Hugo and even Scheierman does make Hauser's future a little cloudier.

None of those guys are the shooter Hauser is, not even close, but they do bring other stuff including more defensive play making to the table. They are also making basically the minimum next year while Hauser will make 10.9 million. That's still a great contract, not even tax-MLE money, but that's exactly the reason Hauser would probably also have value in a trade.

Lets say the C's end up with the 14th pick. What level of center could you get for Hauser + #14? Probably a pretty good one. If you dump or let Simson walk than trade Hauser + picks for a center the team making like 20 million could maybe even be competitive next year and still stay under the tax to reset the repeater.

Of course all of this is dependent on the young wings continuing to develop. So we'll see how it goes.

Back to .500 (7-7) with two games against the Nets upcoming. A good chance to keep winning.

It will be interesting to see how this team looks after a few more weeks of play.

Sam Hauser first 5 games from three: 21/46 for 45.6%
Sam Hauser last 9 games from three: 9/50 for 18.0%

Guy is in one of the worst shooting slumps of his career.

Like I stated in a post a few weeks ago, Mazzulla & Stevens are going to waste an opportunity to get a high draft pick in one of the deepest draft ever.

Instead of getting a transformative young star, the Celtics are going to go .500 and make an early exit in the playoffs.

Stubborn short-sightedness.

If they are .500 through the first 50 games of the season, that still leaves enough time to start resting Brown/White/Simons/PP and having scheduled losses, no?

I agree it's in their best interest to tank. But don't know if it needs to be a concerted effort for all 82 games to get a Top 8-10 pick. Or were you thinking more Top 3-5?

Wow.  The guy has never shot below 40%, going back to something like his sophomore year in high school.

He'll get it together.  Like just about everybody else, he's learning to play without our offensive engine.

Jaylen Brown's shooting numbers dropping slightly from his hot start. I forget what his TS% a while back. 61-63% - somewhere in that range. Now it is 58.7% TS. Right around league average. TS% is up across the league this season.

League average is 58.3% TS at the moment.

He'd been in the school of Al Horford and Luke Kornet for a few years. Of course he's on this list.

Love a guy that does the dirty work.

64.1% TS first 7 games, 54.7% TS the last 7 games.

But, +0.3 NETRTG first 7 games. +9.0 NETRTG last 7 games.

Not sure how to explain that disparity.

Queta is +126 on the season.  The team is +64 on the season.  That means the team is -62 with Queta off the floor.

You prefer per100 possession stats?  Queta on the floor, team is +18.1 per100 possessions, team is -9.3 per100 possessions with him off the floor.

He has been a monster.  Team plays with more pace with him on the court (97.2 Pace vs. 96.6 Pace) and clearly creates a way better point differential, however you want to measure it.

Garza is -11.9 per100 Poss.  Garza and Queta have not been on the floor together for even 1 minute.  There are 269 possessions without either, and the team is -16 or -5.9 per100 possessions.  Quite the contrast.

He's absolutely shown he can be a very nice backup big and fringe starter for us long term, kind of like Horford was for us in recent years. Just need to add a starting big somehow and then get Tatum back. The bench and depth is shaping up to be really good though after this season with some combination of Hauser, Minott, Queta, Hugo and Walsh. Maybe PP as well if they move him to the 2nd unit again.

Now if they could just get Queta to make layups. :o
