The recent playa of the Celtics wing prospects including Minott, Walsh, Hugo and even Scheierman does make Hauser's future a little cloudier.

None of those guys are the shooter Hauser is, not even close, but they do bring other stuff including more defensive play making to the table. They are also making basically the minimum next year while Hauser will make 10.9 million. That's still a great contract, not even tax-MLE money, but that's exactly the reason Hauser would probably also have value in a trade.

Lets say the C's end up with the 14th pick. What level of center could you get for Hauser + #14? Probably a pretty good one. If you dump or let Simson walk than trade Hauser + picks for a center the team making like 20 million could maybe even be competitive next year and still stay under the tax to reset the repeater.

Of course all of this is dependent on the young wings continuing to develop. So we'll see how it goes.

Back to .500 (7-7) with two games against the Nets upcoming. A good chance to keep winning.

It will be interesting to see how this team looks after a few more weeks of play.

Sam Hauser first 5 games from three: 21/46 for 45.6%
Sam Hauser last 9 games from three: 9/50 for 18.0%

Guy is in one of the worst shooting slumps of his career.

Like I stated in a post a few weeks ago, Mazzulla & Stevens are going to waste an opportunity to get a high draft pick in one of the deepest draft ever.

Instead of getting a transformative young star, the Celtics are going to go .500 and make an early exit in the playoffs.

Stubborn short-sightedness.
