Brunson was asked how did you come back and he shook head and said I have no answer! 😂

Cavs were up 22pts with 8min to go.

How could they blow that?

That is one of the biggest choke jobs I?ve ever seen.

That was the Cavs game to steal too.

Looked like Joe Mazzulla coaching and JT/JB out there...blowing big leads

Must be demoralizing for the Cavs now.

D Mitchell was having a great game but he did not score at all during that huge Knicks run in Q4. His last basket was to put CLE up by 21pts with 8:19 to go.

You are the team's best player.
You are the team's best scorer.
You are the team's best 1-on-1 player.

You gotta create something when your team goes ice cold like that.

Edit: D Mitchell did not score in OT. So he went scoreless in the final 8min of Q4 and OT. He was the player of the game with 8min to play in Q4. Then Brunson took over while Mitchell did nothing.

Anunoby 7-8 FTAs + a layup in OT. (edit: huh, he only had 13pts for the game. 9pts of those 13pts came in OT)

I liked that Knicks lineup they used late in Q4 and in OT.

G: Brunson
G: Shamet
F: M Bridges
F: Anunoby
C: Towns

Brunson + 4 shooters. They couldn't send help. When they tried in the final few minutes of Q4, NY got open 3s and nailed them. Bridges and Shamet. Shamet got another one in OT as well. They wanted to trap Brunson and get the ball out of his hands but couldn't because of all the shooters.

Brunson was amazing during that run in Q4. He had 21pts when the run started. Finished with 38pts. So 17pts in final 8min + OT. Made one bucket in OT. So 15pts in final 8min of Q4. Tough layups, easy layup, middays, step back 3. He was red hot. 7-8 FGA for his 15pts.

It felt like NY abandoned their movement offense late in the game and went back to Brunson's ball dominant matchup hunting ways. CLE couldn't do anything with it. He cooked Harden again and again.

One of the great clutch playoff performances by Brunson.

NY outscored CLE 44-11 in final 8min of Q4 + OT.

It was 93-71 Cavs.
Finished 115-104 NY.

A 44-11 run.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Epic collapse. I credit NY for making the plays they needed to make, but blowing a 22-point lead in less than a quarter is a textbook choke job. Harden, Mitchell, Merrill, Mobley ? all of them suddenly couldn?t hit anything. Merrill committed a couple of silly fouls, Cavs made a couple of terrible turnovers, Mobley couldn?t defend the rim? I think Cleveland blew its chance at winning this series.

Huh ... Jason Kidd just got fired.

Masai Ujiri the new GM wanted to make a change.

It was a really bad loss, but It?s only game 1. Cavs just took out the #1 seed in a game 7 in Detroit. They should still be confident.

Funny. Kidd and Harrison, both who traded away Luka and drafted Flagg, all gone.

Soon Kyrie will follow

You could be right. I?ve certainly been wrong plenty of times. :D It seems, though, like the kind of event that could destroy a team?s confidence.
