The Lakers actually had a great start and looked so good in the 1st. Despite that, down double digits early in the 2nd. Just shows how good OKC is. Also makes me jealous, that's a team that just plays up to their competition and doesn't play lazy. Watch, OKC will take care of business and not mess around in this series and not play stupid, not like the C's who probably would see Doncic is out and think "wow this will be a piece of cake"

Who do people want to advance, Pistons or Cavs?

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Masai Ujiri says he spoke to Jason Kidd yesterday. Ujiri was noncommittal when I asked him if Kidd will be Dallas? head coach next season

If the Celtics want a new voice as HC, I would be fine with Kidd.

No strong preference. Generally like both teams. Would prefer the Pistons to win, as I like Cade, though I'm just not sure whether their regular season success against New York translates to the playoffs with their offensive limitations. The Cavs could theoretically be a better matchup against New York in the next series - but not necessarily Philly - but who knows what team you're getting with them either night.

I think the most important thing is that one of these two teams instead of Philly or especially New York advance to the Finals. Both Philly and New York fans are insufferable as it is, let alone off a Finals trip and very likely loss.

76ers head coach Nick Nurse is away from the team to attend the funeral services for his brother, Steve, who died unexpectedly last week, per The Inquirer and The Athletic.

Nurse left New York following Philly?s Game 1 loss to the Knicks Monday night to travel to Ankeny, Iowa, for the services and expects to rejoin the Sixers in New York later on Tuesday.

Life is more important than basketball. Can't imagine it must've been tough for him while coaching last week when he found out. Condolences to Nick.

I don?t really care who the coach is as long as the players are happy with them. They seem to like Joe for now, but if that changes, make someone else HC. Hell, I was asking for Sam to get the job as soon as Ime was canned. At the end of the day, wins and loses in the NBA are almost entirely on the players.

Pistons take game 1. Hopefully this series goes 7. I want every series to go 7.  :)

It's gonna be a long series, but the Cavaliers need more from their frontcourt consistently if they want to make a deep run and possibly reach the Finals. Even with Mitchell/Harden or Mitchell/Garland in the past, I feel that unit collectively lets them down (Mobley has his moments, but not consistently; Allen sometimes just truly goes invisible)

I have nothing against neither team. Maybe I don't like James Harden. Probably the Pistons, nice to see a new face getting far.

Cavs = 19 turnovers
Pistons = 11 turnovers

Cavs = 41 rebounds
Pistons = 45 rebounds

Pistons +8 in turnovers and +4 in rebounds. +12 in possessions. A possession worth roughly 1 point. +12 in possessions and won by 10pts.

Cavs gotta take better care of the ball. The commentators said the led the playoffs in round 1 with 17 turnovers per game. Not surprising given the defense Toronto was playing in that series. DET can do the same thing.

Cleveland gotta make the rebounding game neutral. DET were one of the best in the league with +5.1 rebounding differential per game during the regular season. CLE only +1.2 differential. E Mobley, J Allen and Dean Wade gotta lead that charge. Dean Wade only 3reb in 28min. J Allen only 18min with foul trouble. CLE's bigs gotta match DET's frontcourt's hustle in the paint. They gotta be tougher. They gotta be stronger.

James Harden with another 7 turnover game. He was averaging 5 turnovers per game in the first round. He had an 8 turnover game, 7 turnover game, 6 turnover game, 5 turnover game, two 4 turnover games and in Game 7 only 2 turnovers. Only one low turnover outing 7 games. One of those 4 turnover games came with 10ast and 22pts so it was okay. The rest were all poor showings. 3 games with more turnovers than assists. And that 7 turnover game was an 8 assist game. If Harden can't protect the basketball better, let D Mitchell do more of the ball-handling. It is not like D Mitchell is doing a great job scoring the ball.

I?m not a fan of OKC, but I have to admit.. Their ball movement is incredible. Such unselfish basketball.

Lebron is +4 in the game. Shame they don't have Luka. Need one on the floor at all times to have any shot.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Lebron is beasting. But it looks kinda like when Lebron played those 2017 and 2018 Warriors teams, not enough help and the other team is just so good and you can't slip up otherwise they'll pounce fast

If it wasn't for Wemby, Ausar Thompson would deserve major attention for DPOY.

Tough matchup for D Mitchell. Ausar is so much bigger and longer than him while being just as quick as D Mitch.

Ausar averaged 2.3spg and 2.3bpg in the 1st round. 1stl and 1blk today. Rare to have a guy who is a great stopper + a great turnover generator. Tony Allen-esque. A bigger version of TA. A true SF vs guard TA.

I don't think OKC has even played their best game in the series yet.

Hope to see them continue dominating the guys in purple and yellow
