Did the NBA really mess up and scheduled two Semifinals games to overlap at the same time

SAS/MIN game going on the same time as NYK/PHI
Knicks games is on NBC so it started at 8.  The West game is from a team in the central time zone.  they didn't want it to start to late locally.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Between the last Hawks game and this game, Knicks look like the 1995-96 Bulls.

Yeah, he was annoying me in a game recently as well. That surprises me because I have listened to him do podcasts and he is great on them. Personable. Good stories. Very good analysis. I expected him to be a good color commentator.

Maybe he just needs time to get used to it. R Miller used to drive me up the wall for about 5-10 years but he is solid enough these days. Hopefully it doesn't take Jamal Crawford as long to figure things out as it did for Reggie.

This Wolves/Spurs game is really good.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Brunson = 35pts 32min 12-18 FG 8-8 FT
Anunoby = 18pts 30min 7-8 FG
M Bridges = 17pts 27min 7-10 FGA
Towns = 17pts 20min 7-11 FGA

Hot shooting.

Even the bench were all 50+% FG expect for L Shamet who let the field down with 1-4 FGA. The rest of the bench was 12-20 FGA. J Hart did not want Shamet to be alone so he went 3-7 - one make under 50%. 8pts 8reb 6ast in 26min for Hart.

Ridiculous shooting from NY.

I was impressed with the Knicks help defense from the wings on Maxey. They did a great job playing off their guys on team defense and shrinking the driving lanes. There was rarely any space for Maxey to get by his man and get into the paint.

Anunoby and M Bridges in particular. Those two guys are normally standout man defenders but only ordinary team defenders. Great to see them having such an impact on team D. They set the tone early for NY on Maxey (with their help defense) and Maxey never got his rhythm in the game.

Fun clip of Oubre going up to Towns during an dead ball moment and measuring himself against Towns. Oubre was only about 2 inches shorter than Towns.

I didn't realize Towns measured at only 6-10 without shoes. 6-11 with shoes. Not 7 feet even with shoes.

Paul George made 22-40 threes in the series against BOS. That was 55% 3PT shooting which gives him an 82.5% eFG on his three point attempts. Wow. I didn't realize the math there. Yeah that makes sense. 50% 3PT shooting would be 75% eFG.

He was 13-19 FG in the paint and only 8-29 FG on midrange and long two point jump shots.

PG13 has shot over 40% from 3PT land 3 times in his career. All back in Indiana in 2014, 2016, 2017 (40-43%). They are actually the only times he has been above 36-37% in his playoff career.

PG13 continued his hot shooting against NYC. 6-11 FG including 4-6 on threes. So he is 26-46 on threes now. 56.5% 3PT 84.8% eFG.

Just bad luck ... for the Celtics.

Good luck for Philly and PG13.

Victor Wembanyama set the NBA?s postseason single-game blocks record in the contest. The French star had 12 blocks in the loss for the Spurs, breaking a mark that had only been set three other times in league history.

I was wondering who the previous leader was.

3 players had 10 blocks in a game. Andrew Bynum (2012), Hakeem Olajuwon (1990) and Mark Eaton (1985). I have the Hakeem game on tape. Oh, the Eaton too from youtube (against Hakeem). Not Bynum.

Several players had 9 blocks in a game including our own Robert Williams in 2021 ECR1. Hibbert, Ibaka. Dwight Howard twice including in the finals. Duncan in the finals (2003). Zo. Ostertag. D Coleman - did not expect to see him here. Olajuwon again. And Manute Bol.

An even longer list with 8 blocks. Dwight again. Mutombo 3 times. Shaq twice. D-Rob twice. Dream twice. Eaton. M Bol twice. Ewing. A Lister. Then two surprise names - I Stewart against ORL this year and Samaki Walker in 2000.

Lots of guys had 7 blocks. Including our own Luke Kornet last year. And Perk back in 2009.

Why did San Antonio use that horrible home court pattern for a playoff game? And those ugly jerseys?

Bad juju. No wonder they lost.

New York shot 50% from three, just like we did in game 1 and game 4. 60+ percent overall. You?re not gonna lose many games when you shoot that well
