The scheduling is really stretching out this lakers series.

I would call for conspiracy theories except this also happened last year in the Lakers-Wolves round (same schedule and time off basically).

Regardless, it seems likely the next round for OKC-LAL will start Sunday or Monday unless somehow LAL goes a full 7 games against the Rockets.

Yeah.  I'm not suggesting any conspiracies.  More that it's annoying that things just always seem to work out for the lakers.

Per Sam Amick, HC Mike Brown of the Knicks could be on the hot seat if his team does not win the NBA Finals this season

So if he makes the Finals and loses, he's out? Makes no sense to me. Now if they got bounced next round to the Celtics, then sure. In that case I'd also imagine they make 1-2 significant roster moves (addition and subtractions each)

Looks like he's getting fired then.

Mike Brown should be fired. That team is underachieving relative to their talent. He hasn't improved them at all over last season's squad which was (correctly) judged to not be good enough.

Either way whether he makes the Finals or loses in the Finals he's very likely canned

That's because he's a very average coach. He doesn't give you any advantages on defense or offense, and he regularly gets outcoached, which is especially evident in the playoffs.

It's just weird to me there are multiple coaches who are currently in the playoffs who apparently could be canned even if they make a run to the Finals. Like Mosley for the Magic, Brown for the Knicks, etc. Like yeah if they get eliminated before the ECF/WCF you have a case. But even if they make a Finals win or lose, they could get canned anyways? Why even hire or keep them to begin with then. Frankly if I were a coach in that position I would just say "F it" and just chill, not worth the stress

what upgrades did they make to the roster? I mean Payne and Achiwau turned into Clarkson. They just got older and more injured and despite all that they won more games, improved their ORTG, DRTG, and Net rating. The Knicks problem is thinking they are better than they are.  They are a 2nd round team at best and nothing more (and I know they made the ecf last year, but that was more a fluke than anything).

Ouch, Moranis burning the Knicks

But yeah even with our injuries, it still bugs me we royally choked that series away last year

Are the Magic just a bad matchup for the Pistons? Or maybe DET's lack of a true #2 is killing them too

The Knicks have a #1, but Brunson simply isn't as good and is more flawed than most # 1's.  Towns is a #2 but like Brunson just isnt as good as most.  They have a bunch of 3's and 4's as well, but they just aren't as good.  They just lack true top end talent.  That said they are still a bad matchup for Boston though.   I hope the Hawks win for that reason, but I do not think Boston loses to NY again, I'd just rather not play them.

Magic are a royal pain in the butt for Detroit right now.

Win or loss, this series has been an absolute grind for the Pistons.
