Underdog NBA: Shams: NBA Board of Governors will meet on May 28 to vote on anti-tanking draft lottery reform. Option 1 has gained the most momentum: - 18 teams in lottery: Bottom 10 that miss Play-In and 8 that qualify - Bottom 10 teams each have 8% chance of moving up in lottery - Other 8 teams split 20% odds of moving up - All 18 spots drawn as part of lottery

so a team might be better off for fishing 7th as opposed to 6th. That seems like a good thing to do.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah

The NBA on Wednesday is looking into what Sacramento Kings sources say was a strategy mistake by coach Doug Christie -- and not intentional tanking tactics -- late in Tuesday's loss to the Golden State Warriors. With the Kings leading by one with 3:15 remaining in the game, Christie called for forward Doug McDermott to foul Seth Curry, despite being in the penalty. The strategy was just a misstep, sources told ESPN, as Christie wanted to use a timeout before he automatically lost it when the clock ticked below 3 minutes. Sources said Christie miscalculated that the Warriors were in the bonus and it would send Curry, an 86.4% career free throw shooter, to the line, despite more appealing options on the floor to foul if opting to hack a player.

Of all the things to get mad about, this is what they are investigating?? Not the numerous teams who straight up bench guys in the 4th even in a close game or load manage/sit out players?

I think this one was more bad coaching by Christie than anything else. Rob Perez did a good breakdown on this whole sequence and it sounds more like a misstep than anything else. He also pointed out that McDermott made a three right after that sequence to get back the lead.

League seems to agree.   ;)

NBA statement: "The NBA has completed an investigation of the Sacramento Kings and Head Coach Doug Christie's decision to foul intentionally late in the team's game against the Golden State Warriors on April 7. The league's investigation determined that Christie mistakenly believed that the Warriors were not in the penalty and therefore instructed his team to foul in an attempt to stop the clock and utilize one of the team's remaining timeouts. The investigation found that Christie made no intentional effort to give the Warriors a shooting foul, or to cause the Kings to lose the game."

Meanwhile, the Sixers have a huge game tonight against the Rockets with the potential 6 seed on the line for them (meaning no play-in), and Embiid is out with illness.

I don't blame their fans for being furious, at this point Embiid might as well be a part-time employee. It's not even an injury, it's "illness" (aka pure load manage or rest)

Ugh that is legit, but of course it would be Embiid.  No way he plays the first round.  Hopefully the Sixers end up in the 7-seed.

I feel like an idiot, but I thought an appendectomy is where they remove the appendix. How can one have four?
