Cavs and Knicks seeding is interesting.  Do they both try to tank to the 4 seed ti face Detroit with possibly no Cade or do they just try to win out and if they end up the 3 seed with Boston in round 2, so be it.  I'd honestly prefer Cleveland in round 2 because New York is the one eastern team that matches up well with Boston,  so Im curious to see how this shakes out. Boston beating New York tomorrow would help that seeding become more lkkely.

Also 5-9 still in the air.  Cleveland plays Atlanta twice.  Cavs win both, they are more likely to get to 3, but could also push Hawks into play in so tou know Hawks will be trying hard.

63 games played also, so if he plays in 2 of the final 3 can qualify for all nba.

Kawhi and Durant for 2nd team All-NBA at forward.

D Mitchell at guard. Maybe Devin Booker as well. Not sure if there is a deserving big man for 2nd team. It is 3 frontcourt and 2 backcourt. Maybe Jalen Brunson in the backcourt and D Booker moves to SF.

Likely SGA, Jaylen, Jokic, Wemby for 1st team. Not sure who the 5th player is. No Luka. No Cade. No Ant. I'd have Jaylen 2nd team instead of Brunson if Luka & Cade were available. I'd have Ant 2nd team over D Booker if Ant were available. Book 3rd team.

The 3rd team could go in a lot of different directions.

I wonder if Jalen Duren gets the nod for 3rd team All-NBA. I don't feel good about him on the 2nd team. Maxey, LaMelo, J Murray all candidates at guard. Brunson is on the same level but he has the NYC bias so I think he makes 2nd team over them. The forward slots look wide open. Jalen Johnson has got a good chance. Bam, Towns, Chet Holmgren, Sengun, E Mobley all in the running. Maybe Sengun gets 3rd team ahead of Duren. Harden has got a chance as well. I am not sure Randle has been good enough.

Not that I expect them to lose any first round series, but the only one that truly worries me is Philly because of their high-end talent and at least right now, everyone is back (PG13 from suspension, and Embiid is available to go along with Maxey, Edgecomb, etc). They could push us to 6 or even 7.

CHA/ATL have been great stories this year and had good stretches lately, but I still think come playoffs they'll get exposed a bit and the C's should beat them or anyone else (TOR/ORL) in 5 games. My dream scenario is Toronto or Miami but that seems unrealistic. At this point, anyone but Philly for me. After that, we'll see.

Apparently Luka is appealing his eligibility, seeking a "extraordinary circumstances" waiver for the two games he missed due to the birth of his child.

Can he qualify for awards?

Edit: Pistons have 3 games left. Cade is on 61 games played.

Only 60 of them count, though, right?  He played five minutes in one game.

So my understanding is 62 is the cutoff for the "extraordinary circumstances" so playing these games would put him in that territory to make that appeal

good. He absolutely should be eligible and should be on the 1st team.

The NBA on Wednesday is looking into what Sacramento Kings sources say was a strategy mistake by coach Doug Christie -- and not intentional tanking tactics -- late in Tuesday's loss to the Golden State Warriors. With the Kings leading by one with 3:15 remaining in the game, Christie called for forward Doug McDermott to foul Seth Curry, despite being in the penalty. The strategy was just a misstep, sources told ESPN, as Christie wanted to use a timeout before he automatically lost it when the clock ticked below 3 minutes. Sources said Christie miscalculated that the Warriors were in the bonus and it would send Curry, an 86.4% career free throw shooter, to the line, despite more appealing options on the floor to foul if opting to hack a player.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Of all the things to get mad about, this is what they are investigating?? Not the numerous teams who straight up bench guys in the 4th even in a close game or load manage/sit out players?

I think this one was more bad coaching by Christie than anything else. Rob Perez did a good breakdown on this whole sequence and it sounds more like a misstep than anything else. He also pointed out that McDermott made a three right after that sequence to get back the lead.
