I think the Cavs will be the 2 seed. Their schedule is so easy.

If so, I'm not against going to the 4 seed, and then letting CLE-NY battle it out.

I respect Cade, Bickerstaff and the Pistons + their physicality, but I still just think they are a bit young/inexperienced compared to CLE/BOS/NY when it comes to playoffs. If given the choice I'd rather face them than CLE/NY in a series.

We've had some close games and won this season vs. DET too even without JT
I don't like losing for seeding.  Sends bad mojo.  Just go out and try to win every game. If they end up at 4, so be it, but don't try to go there. Intentionally doing that, I'd just expect them to lose to Miami in the 1st round.

Plus, it's not like Detroit in the second round is a pushover.

I'm with you.  I want to win every game and the seeding is what ever happens.

Same.  If they're truly good enough, it won't really matter anyways.

So hold him out one more game and play him on Friday.  I suspect if he plays Thurs., he won't play Friday.

Dallas is not trying to win, so I suspect they will do just that.

So does that mean he is not playing tomorrow in Boston? Hope not.

Marc Stein: BREAKING: The expectation in Orlando now is that Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg WILL indeed play tonight for the first time in nine games, league sources tell @TheSteinLine and @DLLS_Sports.

Yeah, I was hoping they'd sit him tonight.

#Mavs rookie Cooper Flagg will return for tonight's game against the #Magic, a league source confirms, after missing the last 8 games with a left midfoot sprain.

The tentative plan is that he'll likely be on a minutes restriction tonight and if he progresses, he'll see more usage for tomorrow night's game in Boston.

Old friend Kornet just got a flopping technical foul called on him haha I haven't seen one of those called in years. It's a shame that the league promoted this as some fix to flopping, all for them to use it sparingly for two months and then never again.

It's probably because their biggest stars - particularly SGA and increasingly Jokic and Wemby - all regularly flop as essential parts of their game.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Besides the Knicks, I feel like DET hasn't looked that great when they play some of the other top teams. Like even CLE + OKC recently, they only barely beat them despite those teams missing a bunch of guys. And CLE beat them most recently too. BOS went 1-3 against DET this year without Tatum, with a 1-point loss mixed in and basically every game was single digits.

Idk, they still just strike me as a team that's a bit inexperienced. It's why I feel NY/CLE/BOS have better odds to win the East. Any of the 4 could, but I lean those 3 more than DET since NY/CLE/BOS have been there more often and have guys who have made many playoff runs.

They are definitely trending in the right direction with the coach, Cade and a physical group.

Detroit also doesn?t have a legitimate second option unlike Boston, CLE, NY. If Cade has an off game in the playoffs, who is picking up the scoring.
