I just saw that LeBron won't be available for post season awards because he's not going to make the 65 games thresh hold.
I also read where an article where the writer says that rule needs to be modified for players over 40.
Well MR Writer, Robert Parish played in 74 games starting all 74 averaging 27MPG at the age of 40, 81 games at the age of 41 averaging 17MPG, and 74 games with 34 starts at the age of 42 averaging 15MPG.
No, a new rule isn't needed for players over 40!
Definitely don't need a rule. Either you are good enough with enough games or you aren't. It is probably easier and better this way anyway because now the voters won't feel the pressure to vote for him when he isn't having a top 15 season to begin with. Still having a good season, but him making even the 3rd Team would be crazy (at least to this point of season). He is more like a 5th or 6th team player this year.
I mean just looking at the top 4 teams in the East there are for sure 5 players and probably more like 6 or 7 with better/more impactful seasons (Cunningham, Brown, Brunson, Mitchell, Harden with Duren, Towns, and Mobley also possible). Then you have Barnes, Maxey, Ball/Miller, the Orlando 3, Bam/Herro, and the less healthy guys like Giannis and Embiid who may not get the games either. And that is just the East. There are even more top end players in the West including Lebron's teammate.
Lebron simply wasn't going to make an All NBA team this year anyway and it is just easier for everyone that he isn't eligible.
