Trades will happen but it's a bit crazy the deadline is just 8 days away and there hasn't already been much action or strong rumors. And yeah, it's next Thursday. Snuck up fast.

Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready for a new home at the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline or in the offseason as several rival teams make aggressive offers to the Milwaukee Bucks for him, and the franchise is starting to listen, league sources tell ESPN.

Wow Shams and the Bucks heard me

I just really hope it's not New York or Detroit but I fear it may be NY (they are apparently trying to add Jrue AND Giannis)

I wonder who NY would trade, Brunson or KAT?

I?d imagine KAT since him and Giannis play the same position. Trading Brunson leaves the Knicks without a starting point guard.

Point Giannis

G: Giannis
G: Mikal Bridges
F: Anunoby
F: Towns
C: M Robinson

Or Josh Hart instead of M Robinson. Or maybe Miles McBride as a shot making off ball PG (sort of like BJ Amstrong on MJ's Bulls).

Agreed on Towns being the guy to go though. Brunson is a cult hero to the Knicks at this point. They won't trade him. Pity, I like the team better with Towns than with Brunson.

Giannis and KAT would be quite the duo - that would be the pairing I would prefer as a Knick fan.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I'm really not sure how much trade value KAT has. In fact I don't think he's that far off from Trae's trade value (contract considered) which wasn't much evidently. NY would have to entice MIL further.

I wouldn't sleep on Miami going after him if they are fine giving up Ware or Bam in the package.

We'll see, I still think NY is the favorite to land him but I wonder if they'd be able to pull it off if MIL doesn't want KAT. I doubt NY will trade Brunson.

why would he have more value than Trae?

The Toronto Raptors are emerging as a legitimate landing spot for Domantas Sabonis, with RJ Barrett potentially being sent to Sacramento, per Sam Amick

Quote
While Washington, Phoenix and Chicago are known to have had some interest in Sabonis, league sources confirmed reports that Toronto is a legitimate possibility as we approach the deadline. It is worth noting that the Raptors? RJ Barrett, who is owed $27.7 million this season and $29.6 million next season, was drafted No. 3 overall out of Duke by current Kings general manager Scott Perry in 2019, when Perry held the same position with the Knicks. The two old friends shared a warm hug and extended conversation before the game at Golden 1 Center.

Apparently the Kings want all the guards.

Haha. Dalton Knecht has demanded a trade.

Fair enough. They don't play him. There isn't any pathway to playing time because Knecht's D is too bad and they already have too many bad defenders around. They need athletes around Luka, Reaves and old-man LeBron.

Wasn?t the Kings GM in NY when they drafted Barrett?

Because he isn?t a 6?1 guard who weighs 160lbs.  :P
