Shocking.  Absolutely shocking.  Guy has always been the picture of health.  Who would've seen this coming?

Dallas Mavericks' Anthony Davis is likely to undergo surgery to repair ligament damage in his left hand and miss several months, sources tell ESPN. His Dallas season is essentially over, given the prognosis and the Mavs' direction.

Fascinating development: The Mavericks are having renewed Davis trade talks with multiple interested teams, sources said. If moved to a playoff contender, the return timeline could allow Davis to return during the postseason while establishing himself for the long-term elsewhere.

Does that end Dallas' playoff hopes?

Lively already out for the season. AD down now. Gafford is their only quality big man left. Dwight Powell as 3rd string will step up as their new backup center.

Still no Kyrie Irving. They were talking about him returning for Thanksgiving around the start of the season. Then they had that bad start. Is he not ready or are they deliberately holding him out so they can get a better draft pick?

Dallas have 15 wins 25 losses. Memphis in 10th place for the final play-in spot with 17 wins 22 losses. So Dallas are on the outside looking in but not out by much. A return to action from Kyrie could spur a run to the play-in spot. Even without AD or Lively.

Good year for them to tank and bottom out.  After this year, I don't believe they have control over their own 1st round pick until 2031.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Yes - these games are great and I hope they end up battling each other in the WCF. OKC is 33-7.

Infuriating watching the leeway SGA gets with the officials. Gets all these soft calls from his embellishment of contact, all while being the biggest off arm offensive foul offender in the league while getting away with it.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

That is why OKC?s whistle is so criticized. Wemby literally twists his ankle on the defender?s foot, but somehow it?s not a reckless close out flagrant - amazing incompetence by these officials. You can flip a coin and get more consistent calls on the reckless close out call than NBA officials.

Giannis Antetokounmpo on being booed at home: I don't think it's fair

Even though Tuesday's game was played in Milwaukee, Giannis Antetokounmpo made it clear how he would respond to such jeers. "It doesn't matter," Antetokounmpo said about being at home. "I play basketball for my teammates. I play basketball for myself and my family. When people don't believe in me, I don't tend to be with them. I tend to do what I'm here to do, what I'm good at. ... It won't change home or away. But yeah, I've never been a part of something like that before and I don't think it's fair. I don't. But everybody has their opinion to do what they want to do.

Miami has emerged as an attractive option to Ja Morant and his camp

There are teams with varying levels of interest in Morant ? Minnesota, Sacramento and Milwaukee to name a few ? but Miami has quickly emerged as an attractive option to Morant and his camp in recent days, sources say. The Heat have historically been regarded as one of the NBA?s most detail-oriented and structured organizations, a major aspect of development that appeals to Morant, who has missed 34 games due to various suspensions. Morant also has a deep respect for Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, who also runs Team USA; Morant desires to represent his country in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. Miami?s veteran presence is an additional selling point and something Morant craves. Yahoo! Sports

That seems like one of the worst cities an immature fool like Morant could end up in.

New Washington Wizards star Trae Young is still recovering from MCL and quad injuries on the same leg and will be re-evaluated after the mid-February All-Star break, sources tell ESPN. The Wizards are taking a cautious approach with the injuries to their new trade acquisition.

Translation:  "Our pick is top 8 protected so we're going to do everything in our power to maintain that"

Pretty much.  It would be funny if they held Trae out to tank and then he declined his player option this offseason and left to go elsewhere.
