The Sacramento Kings are reportedly seeking a first-round pick for Keon Ellis, per James L. Edwards III (The Athletic).

I am curious if the Celtics would make a genuine offer for Ellis. He seems like such a Mazzulla type player.

With 1st round picks being more valuable under the new CBA, and players like Trae Young not even getting a first round pick, how likely is it that Ellis will get one?

agreed.  if Trae can't garner even one, Ellis won't either.  a couple of seconds and trade filler probably

The article I read did say a "late round' first, but it's still steep.

Saric doesn't add anything.  So, it's essentially Ellis + filler for Hauser.  I think that makes us worse.

Can't exactly say this is surprising.

Multiple teams are pursuing Morant in trade talks and rival executives believe the Grizzlies would prioritize draft picks and young players in return, sources said. Morant, 26, is under contract with the Grizzlies through the 2027-28 season.

Memphis is considering multiple paths forward amid the emergence of several promising young players, including building around them and 2023 Defensive Player of the Year Jaren Jackson Jr. The Grizzlies also remain open to continue on with Morant as a focal part of their retool.

Memphis might have wanted to entertain these offers prior to Trae Young tanking the market for star PGs that have proven tough to build a successful team around.

why Morant may garner more interest - more entertainment value to put butts in seats and is under a cheaper contract for a bit longer
why Morant may garner less interest - off court issues are serious enough to worry about him being banned from the league for a stretch and no guarantee the team gets some financial flexibility from the league in his absense.
