I just realized that Phoenix are having themselves quite a season so far. They have Devin Booker and a bunch of role players. They are at 18-12 right now. If we are pleasantly surprised with how the Celtics are playing with their current roster, I think the Suns are playing equally well with a much weaker line up. Great job by their coach.

Nikola Jokic went down with an apparent leg injury before halftime against Miami.

Yikes, never good to see that.

Best case scenario it's a knee hyperextension/bone bruise which would sideline him for a few weeks. Worst case it's an ACL tear and his season is over.

This season has had too many injuries.

To me that looks like a hyperextended knee, not an ACL (and I really hope it's not). If so, he'll still miss a good chunk of time, but the key thing is to determine if it's a sprain or any actual tears. If sprain, it's a 3-4 week timeline. If any tear, definitely more than a month, maybe even more than 2 months if it's a "severe tear". Hopefully it's not anything requiring major surgery or another possibility like ACL or meniscus that requires a surgery

He did get stepped on pretty hard during the play and then went down holding his knee, so it's encouraging that it wasn't a non-contact injury that just happened.

Really hope Jokic is alright.

He is one of the most fun players to watch in the league plus he doesn't come across as a scumbag.

Just in: Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic has been diagnosed with a hyperextension in his left knee and will miss at least four weeks. An immense sigh of relief as tests show the three-time NBA MVP's knee ligaments are intact.

The Nuggets at least have a quality backup for Jokic... they might be able to avoid a catastrophic drop.

This is the densest part of the NBA schedule. Four weeks would mean he misses 15 games, 5 weeks would mean he misses 19 games. Nuggets are currently own 4 starters, but Gordon/Braun should return relatively soon to give them some reinforcements.

Its going to be close as to whether Jokic will still be eligible for awards, but even if he is got to think his MVP chances are pretty much gone.
