Michael Scotto: Giannis Antetokounmpo on Ryan Rollins: ?I?ve been in the NBA 13 years. I?ve had 200-300 teammates. A jump for a guy that came two years ago to a two-way contract, non-guaranteed, a guaranteed deal, to the player he is today. I don?t think I?ve seen a jump like that in my career.?
Pushed his numbers up to 23ppg 8ast while Giannis was out for 4 games. Shooting numbers dropped though. 43.5% FG 26.5% 3PT. So not efficient scoring. Had an efficient 25pts and 6ast in another game Giannis has missed.
On the season as a whole:
*18ppg 6apg 4rpg.
* 48.6% FG 41.2% 3PT. 59% TS. Lowish TS% given his high marks at FG and 3PT percentages.
* Hardly ever gets to the FT line. Only 2.2 FTAs against 14.5 FGAs. That gives him a 15% FT rate. Way below average. That is what is dragging down his TS%.
* Takes 6 threes per game. Not that high against the 14.5 FGAs. 41% of his shots are 3s.
* So he takes almost 60% twos. That is interesting. Takes about 25% of his shots at the rim where he makes 70% of his shots. High number for a PG. 10% of his shots from 3-10 feet where he made only 27% of them. 10% of his shots from 10-16 feet where he hit 43% of them. About 7% of his shots from 16-23 feet where he hit 37% of them. So his jumper doesn't look reliant in the midrange (20-59 FG on 10-23 footers). He is efficient at the rim and at the three point line.
* 6.0apg to 2.7 turnovers per game. Little over 2:1 AST:TOV ratio which ain't great for a PG. 5.3apg to 2.5 turnovers in the first 15 games which he shared with Giannis.
Milwaukee lost all 5 games they played without Giannis. So they are 9 wins 7 losses with Giannis and 0-5 without Giannis. Not sure how much Ryan Rollins is moving the needle here. Feels more like a role player whose stats (ppg, apg) are inflated due to the lack of quality players on the team.
