I really believe Brown will retire as a Celtic but thought this trade would be very interesting

it's a horrible trade for the C's.  I wouldn't give up Jaylen alone for that pupu platter nevermind throwing in Hauser and picks.

Jalen Johnson is 23 years old. Last year he averaged 19pts/10rebs/5ast/1blk/1.6stl. Very good defender. Elite athlete. Can guard 1-4.

Dyson Daniels is 22 years old. Last year he averaged 14pts/6rebs/4ast/3stls. He?s elite defensively. Can guard 1-3.

That?s not a pupu platter at all. Both guys have a lot of upside and they are very young. Considering JB is approaching 30 and Tatum is likely missing all of next year, I?d definitely consider that trade. Especially with the picks.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I'd love for Jyalen to stay with the Celtics for another bunch of years and win another championship and go down as one of the Celtic greats...

But if the C's could get Jalen Johnson and Dyson Daniels for JB, I think they'd have to do that.

The salary mechanics might might it improbable (I think Atlanta wants to keep Okongwu) but a deal with that foundation would make sense for the C's.

Yep.

Realistically, JJ alone has close to JB's value at this point given the age and contract disparities, let alone adding on Dyson Daniels. JJ was one of the prime targets I had in mind if we went the nuclear route and went away from Brown.

I'd absolutely do this, I think. It'd also be a solid for JB to send him back home with his pal KP on a team that would likely be favorites to win the East.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I was in that camp about Johnson, too, but a wise veteran of this forum pointed out that there is a very real risk that Johnson is going to be one of those perennially injured players who never seems to be there when you need him. I hope that is not the case, I hope he has a great career, but that is a big risk. I do like the top three who would be coming in from Atlanta.
Go Celtics.
