Ohio state looks like a team that hasn?t played a meaningful game in months
I caught the game while on vacation here in Hing Kong and I agree, they kind of reminded me of the women?s volleyball regional final between Nebraska and Texas A&M thst I watched with my niece the other week, Nebraska had gone undefeated, thrashing all this lesser opposition then they came up against an opponent that put them under pressure and they couldn?t deal with it. Ohio State looked the same.
Except they basically had a must-win game against Michigan and then the Big Ten championship against Indiana in their last 2 games. The Indiana game was obviously more telling of the problems they had on offense. They just looked flat and not dynamic. They clearly missed the 2 great now in the NFL running backs they had. They just couldn't find the balance early and that put a lot of pressure on the still relatively young QB, and he obviously made a crucial mistake. Smith and Tate are great, but the Buckeyes clearly need to be able to run the ball. Also, Day is not a very good play caller. His offenses are very predictable and great defenses can exploit them, which Miami was able to do.
If Oregon hangs on, teams on bye will be 0-6 with 2 games to go. Perhaps the bye is much more of an issue than one would expect and that may be a reason to go to 16
