Just happy to see a Boston sports team back in the championship stage again!! It's been too long

We survived the Mac Jones, Cam Newton, Bailey Zappe and Jacoby Brissett era!

Not sure if it?s fair to group Mac in with those guys. He did very well with McDaniels as well.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Did very well until like Week 14 or something and then fell flat in his face against the Bills in the wild card round

Payton had a couple notches in his coaching belt take out for the decisions.  I've said it before and I'll keep saying it, TAKE THE POINTS!  The Rams should've kicked to only be down one late in the game too.

Last time there was a Pats Seattle SB it was during a Boston snowstorm. Coincidence or fate?

Who do you want Seattle or LA?

It?s funny, the NFL for me, moreso than any other sport, is full of teams for whom I can have a visceral response of loathing.  Like more than half I legit can?t stand.  Seattle has never been one of them for me.  I think maybe I was fascinated by them as an expansion team when I was a kid.

I was definitely pulling for them against the Rams, despite also feeling like LA would be a better matchup for the Pats.

Also, thinking over yesterday?s game and I?m just so impressed with Vrabel and his staffs ability to figure out the best way to win given the feel of different games.  And the players? ability to implement that plan.  Yesterday came down to ball control.  Keeping the clock moving and holding on to the ball. The Pats did that beautifully in the circumstances.

Such a unique game.

I mean that wild card game was really summed up by the Bills not having to punt a single time and our defense giving up 47 (could have easily been 60+). By the time Mac Jones went out there for just his second drive, they were already down 14-0.

I do agree for the most part. Mac had a solid rookie year. But the team afterwards just screwed him over with the Patricia/Judge fiasco, Belichick the GM meddling (not getting much talent and poor drafting), etc. Ultimately it worked out and now we have Maye, and I think Mac Jones is in a good situation with the Niners as well for his skillset/abilities and the Shanahan system.

We were in the championship stage two years ago with the Celtics? We really are spoiled here in Boston

(though I know you are in LA? Probably why you?re so desperate for us to get on the championship stage again  :police:)

Most definitely!! Even tho the Celtics won in 2024, felt forever

But the Patriots haven't been back since 2018 so that one is much needed.

Anyone concerned that Drake Maye did not have a single good game in the postseason? Didn?t seem to do well with the pressure of the playoffs.

Idk but he certainly proved to be the case of not winning the MVP. Heads would've been rolling had he won and Stafford not.

Personally I am not worried based on this postseason. He played some tougher defenses during the regular season too and played really well. The soft schedule was mainly playing some terrible offenses. He is still only a 2nd year QB and young for 2nd year. I feel much better than when we had Mac Jones, Newton or Zappe. The regular season probably made us think he was a top five QB and that feels a bit premature. The reality is there was not much talent on offense for this team. The WRs were below average, RBs were fine and TE was average at best. Oline was also pretty young so the talent around him on offense was not great.

With all that being said next year is a big year for him as teams will adjust now based on his film from this season. Always easy to be a one year wonder but if he follows this year up with a similar performance then he is very much in the conversation of a top 5 QB. That was the case regardless of this SB outcome though. Let?s see but the future is still bright and a lot of that has to do with his potential.

The Pats were frauds all season. Product of the easy schedule. Won?t be the case next year. And they had great injury luck this year. Won?t happen next year. If they don?t do something about that offensive line it will be more of the same. Campbell is not a left tackle. And They need another big time receiver as well. Jax. Chargers, packers, Seattle and Denver are all on the schedule. I can?t watch this same garbage I saw today next year.
