We have the worst tackling team in the NFL. Week after week we give up crazy yards after contact. So many times we will have the QB or RB in our grasp for a loss or short gain and they somehow get 7 yards out of it. And then at the end of the game when we know they are gonna run it but we still surrender 6 or 7 yards a play, that crap aint gonna fly in the playoffs.

Just goes to show how important Williams and Spillane are to our defense because no one else seems to be able to make a play
Funny you say that because to my eye we have one of the best tackling teams in the NFL

Didn't Carlton Davis missed his tackle/sack on Allen and even allowed him to gain yardage passed LOS. That was infuriating.

Yes exactly, plays like that happen multiple times a game, free blitzer on the edge or corner and they run right at the QB and try to arm tackle and whiff.
Or the multiple times when we had Cook surrounded at the LOS and he walks forward for 6 yards
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

Man I forgot what it felt like to watch the Pats lose a game again. It's been two months lol.

But felt like this loss was the worst this year, blowing a 21-0 home lead and all

I get its frustrating but profootball reference tracks missed tackles and we have the fewest missed tackle in the entire NFL.

Other teams have guys that get paid too. James Cook already had almost 1600 yards coming into todays game. Josh Allen won MVP last year for a reason. You arent going to stonewall opponents on every single play.

Defense overall was horrible today, but tackling is way down the list of issues this team has.

Since Milton Williams went down weve allowed opposing offensive lines to win in the run game and all year long weve struggled to get much pressure off the edge. Spillane was a major missing piece this week as well. Have to hope those guys are able to be back at 100% for the playoffs because if not, playoff teams will pick us apart.

They were tackling exceptionally well in the first half.  Can?t give JA field position in your own end three times off kick returns.  Also can?t let Allen have the ball close to 25 minutes in the second half (idk what it was but it was a ton). And with all that, the offense had two chances in the end to drive the ball to the lead or win. Couldn?t.  Maye had an awful 2nd half missing throws mostly high.  He made a great play in the LVH run, but that was it.  Get ?em  next week!!

Hope this loss was the wakeup call we needed before the playoffs. They need to realize you cant just take your foot off the gas in the 2nd half and squeeze out a win like we have against the bums of the league.

That goes for players AND coaches. McDaniels has been the QB whisperer with Drake but time and time again he gets way too conservative in the 2nd half this year. Smack some sense into them Vrabes!!

It's like McDaniels went away from what was so successful from the 1st half into the 2nd half. They was running the ball down their throats in the 1st half and what got us a 21-0 lead. 2nd half? It was only passing plays. I only saw like 3 runs.

And Vrabel needed to do a better job with the defense. They completely crapped the bed.

The last two plays for the Pats offense, 3rd and 5, 4th and 5, both times I think Maye could have taken off and ran.  I'd like to see the highlights from those two plays.

All in all, a good game and let's not forget, we were down some key players, Campbell, Milton, Spillane (?).

I was saying the same thing they went up 21-0, but this was less about the Pats taking their foot off the gas and more about the Bills putting their foot on it.

I don?t feel like the Pats were trying to coast in with a lead in this game, they just got steamrolled.

There was a highlight shown on Twitter and he had Boutte wide open on a crossing route but looked to the sideline and threw that pass which the receiver didn't even see coming (it sailed over him)

Can we cool it with the whole Drake Maye is on Josh Allen?s level now.

He sure wasn't in the second half yesterday.

This game was a wake up call for the entire team.  There is an opportunity to learn from it.  I have been saying all along that two things can be true at the same time.  It can be true that the Pats have had a very easy schedule and it can also be true that the Pats are way better than pretty much anyone thought.  The Pats can still make plenty of noise this season and in the playoffs, but they will need to work their tails off.  They can't lay an egg for an entire half (obviously).

BUF is still a top contender in the AFC and Josh Allen may well be the best QB in the AFC, especially with no more Mahomes.  The Pats are now 1-1 against that team.  Game 1, BUF played poorly, Pats found a way to win.  Game 2, the Pats found a way to lose.  Game 3?  If there is a Game 3 this season, the Pats will be right there.  Maye will likely not play as bad in the second half as he did on Sunday.  Allen will probably (hopefully) not play nearly perfectly and score 5 straight times.

Defense was the bigger issue yesterday.  They continue to play like that, they're going nowhere.  Pats offense had less than 8 minutes in time of possession in the 2nd half.

It's a growing pains game.  Played a very good & experienced veteran team.

They're really missing Milton Williams right now.

Not having Spillane was also rough, he's our best linebacker and also great at tackling especially in the past few months. Our tackling yesterday especially the 2nd half was bad.

I am optimistic things will get better when Campbell, Williams and Spillane all come back healthy.
