Heard this story on the radio recently regarding Pete?s time in NE. Smh

Carroll had his own issues with the Patriots owner, one of which involved sandwiches.

That situation from the start was a little challenging, Carroll told Richard Sherman on the ?Richard Sherman Podcast on Tuesday. We did everything first class in San Francisco. I mean, top drawer, treated the players great. It was a clear philosophy that I was bringing, I was excited to unveil. We?re having a minicamp, and I?m just checking the setup of it, how it?s organized.

I?m figuring into the menu for the players on that weekend. And Kraft comes to me and says, ?Well, you know, we?re not gonna feed them like that. We give them bologna sandwiches, and chips and stuff like that. It hit me just as clear as a bell. I thought, ?I?m in deep trouble. I mean, if I can?t even feed them the way I wanna feed them, what?s gonna come? I mean, he didn?t know what he was asking for at the time. We didn?t cover bologna sandwich stuff in interviews.

I've heard that Pete Carroll story before. It's still crazy to me how everyone blamed Bill for being cheap. It wasn't his money, so why would he care.

Idk anything about Pete's sandwiches but Kraft's gotta go and take Eliot Wolf with him. They are the reason why the Pats have become the laughingstocks of the league. Like the new Jets. How they mismanaged Brady and drama with Belichick. Hiring Pencil Guy Patricia to do offensive coaching, failing Mac Jones, wasting Drake Maye's rookie year with Jerod Mayo. Poor drafting and roster management overall. Cheap ownership with below average feedback from surveys.

Don't even make me get into some of the games. I remember that game a few years back against the Raiders. Can't believe they were throwing laterals with a tie game with 00:00 left before it became an interception returned for 6.

The New Orleans Saints are trading for New England Patriots wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk, a source confirmed to ESPN on Saturday.

Polk, a 2024 second-round pick, is on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

The Saints will receive Polk and a 2028 seventh-round pick, while the Patriots will receive a 2027 sixth-round pick.

Polk was selected 37th overall after the Patriots had traded down three spots, giving up the No. 34 pick to the Los Angeles Chargers, who selected receiver Ladd McConkey.

Just makes me more confused why Wolf is still here. Even Vrabel/Cowden and others are basically nuking his draft picks from last year and some other signings that HE made. I don't get the "transition" period which is why Wolf has to stay, just move on and start fresh. If it's true that most of our 2025 picks were made by Vrabel's people and/or Vrabel himself (lot of influence), then again, move on from Wolf. That can't be a "stable" set up.

Ownership is too dug into the day-to-day operations. They may have fired Belichick but there's others on this overall staff that need to also be gone, and Josh McDaniels coming back is just another sign they want a "familiar" face. Vrabel played for NE but did a lot of actual coaching and work elsewhere post-playing career which is why he's a bit different.

I don't care what anyone tells me, this team will not make significant progress while Eliot Wolf remains as their GM.

I don't think many people disagree with you. He's not been a good GM.   Man, that 2024 draft was a disaster outside of Maye.

I still think Polk can salvage an NFL career but a change of scenery was probably best at this point.

This is still very much TBD, IMO. Not at all sold on Maye. Never have been.

Out of all the QBs in that class, he might be that bust. Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix, JJ, Penix Jr, Caleb are all flashy and/or explosive so far. Wouldn't even be mad if we had drafted MHJ. I don't blame Maye, he had a crappy first-year HC and no OL. Hope he still has time to rebound or he could be another Mac Jones in the making.

Saw a podcast where they were determining whether Maye would be a Josh Allen or a Sam Darnold. Yikes if the latter.
