I'd like to open up voting on Thursday unless you guys think it's too soon. If you want to put effort into more writing, advocating and discourse before voting, that is fine by me. If we want to vote and move onto the sim which should allow for plenty of discourse, then I suggest we open up voting on Thursday and if we get votes in quickly, I can announce on Friday. If it takes more time I can announce on Monday or early next week. What do you guys think?
Was under the impression we'd first simulate the regular season and then run play-ins and playoffs (=vote on specific matchups) based on the sim results.

If voting opens on Thursday, I'm opting for Sheed over BroLo and I'm using my starters way more minutes. No way Jokic plays only 28 minutes. Only reason I reduced his playing time was the sim algorithm. I also assumed the 9-man rotation was a prerequisite for the simulator, hence applied only for the regular season. Was planning to have an 8-man rotation in the playoffs.

PG: Damian Lillard (36) / Derrick White (12)
SG: Jalen Williams (18) / Anthony Edwards (30)
SF: Paul George (36) / Jalen Williams (12)
PF: Jayson Tatum (36) / Rasheed Wallace (12)
C: Nikola Jokic (36) / Rasheed Wallace (12)

Sim for seeding and then war of words for playoff match ups  sounds fun.  As long as Roy and MO end up facing off.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Works the other way around as well. Vote for seeding and then sim the play-ins and the playoffs.

I'm on board with whatever SAB wants. Just wanna make sure we're all on the same page in order to finalize our rotations. Most people are using their stars for limited minutes assuming we are building a team for the simulator.

I'm on board with whatever SAB has in mind.  Like a few others, my minutes are based on the "total minutes played divided by 82 games" standard.

I also based my rotation on the "total minutes played divided by 82 games" standard.
Also the rotation was for the regular season simulation as I could maximize minutes for playoff-matchups.

I think SAB should do what he likes best, but it is a bit confusing.
I think voting for the best team and then use that as a seeding for simulation playoffs is an interesting idea though.

Hey guys, I'll chime in more later.

Minutes are strictly for the sim. Minutes should not be considered for voting. Just the overall rosters and depth charts with the understanding that a 2nd string guy could easily switch to a 3rd string guy depending on matchups. Voting we would do after write ups, before the sim.

Why my team beats this other team would be a fun exercise... I'm ready to embrace total intellectual dishonesty in defense of my squad.

So, let's get writeups, depth charts and minutes in, with minutes coming via PM or posted.

Voting will occur before the sim, because the sim is meant to prolong the fun. I will follow the general format that Gouki used 2 years ago, write ups and voting soon after.

GMs will vote for 9 teams- all teams but their own. When the voting is complete, I will post the voting results and average rank of either the teams, so if everyone votes a team 1st it's score will be 1.0 and if half the voters rank a team 2nd and half rank it 3rd, it will be 2.5

Traditionally this ends after voting. But in this case, with your depth charts and minutes in hand and a little bit of time, I will setup a little league / ecosystem where I can manually sim games. And I'll do a regular season over maybe a couple of days, and then we'll gear up for the playoffs where the top 6 teams from the regular season will be seeded in, and the other 4 will be in a playin, though with all the work everyone has done I would like to make each playin a series

Note that minutes guidelines are approximate and the sim will play people different minutes in certain cases, depending on if it's a close game or blow out, foul trouble, etc.

Again, do not consider minutes when voting. That is purely for the sim because it is necessary, and that is why I initially suggested minutes by PM'd. It is fine to post them but I didn't want peoples' minutes choices to result in people judging them more harshly.

I always have trouble posting images and media. If someone can help me, I am happy to post some of the sim box scores and pics (there will be a lot of simming, so only highlights) or if someone is willing to help me by receiving emails and posting pics in an organized fashion.

Please ask me any specific questions you have now that we are done with drafting, waiting for writeups and depth charts and minutes to come in 100%, having debates and critiques here in this thread, and then commencing with voting, declaring a voting winner, and then beginning the sim part of the season.

If people enjoy this, enjoy the sim, and enjoyed the experienc, we can do more. I am quite busy with work in general but I work West Coast hours, so 8am-noon drafts work great. First let's see if people find the sim enjoyable or flawed, a good addition or a one time thing.

Looks like we are mainly waiting for Don's writeup, seasons and MPG guidelines. I appear to have everyone else's write up, seasons and MPG and am in the process of uploading.

I have updated the first 5 rosters into the sim. I just need to assign minutes. Roy, Who, and Tim, I had to tweak some of your minutes so can you just review you're ok with what I edited in your posts, or change it? Curry, AD, Harden, KG, and Embiid are currently at their max minutes.

I will work to get the rest of the rosters uploaded and minutes assigned. I want to make sure I get the minutes right the first time, so I don't have to do it twice.

Let's have some commentary and discussions here while we wait on Dons. Advocate for your team and others. When Dons is done we can open up voting, hopefully by end of this week.

Toward this end...  I officially throw down my gauntlet.  Any GM can issue me a challenge by writing why your team beats mine, and I'll respond in kind.

Is it alright to change KG's season from 2007-08 to 2003-04? That would remove the minutes issue with KG.

I would KG at 35mpg. JJJ at 26mpg. Embiid is at 29mpg due to minutes restriction. Aldridge at 6mpg.

Can't do 03-04, Who.  2005 and after all work though.
