I am not sure that the Celtics are in any hurry, nor should they be.  As others have said, Simmons would put us back over the 2nd apron.  Not necessarily the end of the world, I am sure that there will be other deals made.  My guess is that they have other things in the works.
I agree with this. I don?t doubt that Brad is kicking the tires here. But, there is no hurry. The funny thing is, I won?t be surprised if he becomes a Celtic and I won?t be surprised if he doesn?t.

Ben Simmons, the Schrodinger's Cat of the NBA. ;)
😂 their is always someone surprises you. I always thought BS would have a break out season! It never came, he just seemed to get worse.

I think I listened to a podcast where Niang said he hates Simmons...  ;D Something like: "F that guy", because he was sitting out for no reason and Niang being dependent on his playmaking as shooter. I think there even was a redemption game where he aggressively went at Simmons when he played for another team. Not sure if this a match made in heaven... even though I would love to see if Joe can get into his head. Also: Make him switch shooting hands, I get so angry seeing him make those weird hookshots with his right, only to brick shots with his left afterwards. I think this stubbornness held him back the most!
Memphis Grizzlies
PG: Dragic, Ball, Carter
SG: Temple, KCP, Holiday, Washburn
SF: Richardson, Anderson, Parsons, Casspi
PF: Jackson jr, Beasley, Watanabe
C: Adebayo, Green, Noah

Don't think we will be making decisions about our roster based on Niang's preferences.

The Ben Simmons sweepstakes is taking longer than expected 😅

Are they waiting for the Claxton shoe to drop?  Simons to the Nets for Claxton in a straight up deal?

I thought Brad made it publicly clear that he won't be dealing Simons, at least for this summer? He even praised him of his basketball skills.

Would be nice to have Claxton though

Although, I posted above pointing out some strengths of Simmons but I would dread this is some ways too as he lacks heart.

I totally agree, but here is my take on this.  If we took on Simmons, he would be a disaster!! If someone else takes on Ben Simmons, he will have a resurgence and be a great player. That is how these things always go!!!

75 years old, 6?2 and 250. On the plus side possibly would defend better.

I'd do a Simons for Claxton deal but it's probably not on the table.

just his tongue.

could help him on defense -- it's almost like having a 3rd arm he can use on D
