The Los Angeles Lakers are moving up in the second round of the NBA Draft tonight, acquiring the No. 45 pick from the Chicago Bulls for No. 55 and cash, sources tell ESPN.

Would have been nice if the C?s moved up a few spots last night? :P

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

The cost for moving up last night was weirdly astronomical. New Orleans gave up a pick that projects in the top 10 to get up like 9 spots.

I was noticing that too.  Feel like packaging the 28 and 32 would have gotten us to 27, lol.

Nah, there were some guys I was interested in before our pick range last night, but it looked like the price to make that happen was just not worth it.

Jazz gave up 3 second round picks to move from 21 to 18 so they could take Clayton Jr. That?s astronomical?  ???

How disappointed are people going to be if BOS trades back for pick 51 (for example) and 2 seconds in 2033 or something like that?

The Brooklyn Nets are trading the No. 36 pick in tonight's NBA Draft to the Phoenix Suns for two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Suns now own Nos. 36, 52 and 59.

Very because there are 3 first round guys right there that can come in and help them which they really need. Trading back is so dumb.

I don't know enough about any of these players to make any kind of serious prediction.  But all the 7-footers (example Raynaud) look like Luke Kornet and Fleming reminds me of Tillman.  I don't know how sure anyone can be that they will help immediately.  Maybe.  Or maybe they end up as a 2-way player.

I will say that I like picking early in the second round.  You hopefully get a player that is not all that different than the last few in the first round but you aren't required to offer a guaranteed contract.  That is the main difference between pick 28 and 32.

Both bigs have a lot of years in college so they are closer to being ready to play IMO

That's cause the Pelicans are idiots.  You don't make that trade without some protection on next year's pick.  There were other trades that didn't cost that much albeit they didn't jump 10 spots.  Kings traded into the 1st round by acquiring the #24 pick from OKC for the 2027 Spurs pick protected 1-16; if it doesn?t convey, it turns into two second-round picks.

not terribly bad. PBS knows how to use assets in trades and in the nba today a second rounder is more valuable than it used to be.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

After a series of trades, the Suns ultimately sent #36 and two future seconds to Minny for #31, where they are rumored to be selecting Rameer Fleming.

I personally was not that interested in Fleming.  Do we think the C?s move down a few spots for a similar offer?

Suns moved up to 31 and took Fleming an hour before the draft.

Cs will have their pick of bigs. Stay put and fill a need.
