The Celtics select Hugo Gonzalez at No. 28 overall.

Gonzalez had lottery buzz entering the 2025 draft cycle before a quiet season occurred with Real Madrid.

A quiet season in a league worse than the NBA.   I know the front office knows way more than me.  Does this mean that one or both of Al and Luke are coming back?

Didn't play a ton in Real. And yes I hope they can get Al and Luke back. Also hope the bigs are still there at 32

of all the years to draft for NEED, this was the year to do that.
Why didn't we get a big?

3 good bigs on the board with our next pick only 4 away 🤞
that's what I'm hoping plays out for us going into the next pick

Ya Gonzales wasn?t really on my Radar but I like what I see overall, seems pretty [dang] explosive.

Down for Kalkbrenner at 32.

Givony and Bilas both calling him one of the biggest steals of the draft is a good start. Just watched a quick highlight video and he looks decent. Athletic, good nose for the ball. Guess we?ll have to wait and see

What I just read sounds interesting.  Lots of upside - obviously not a big and not an immediate impact, but they say high energy, athletic, strong defender, needs to improve shooting. Sounds G-league but was expected to go a little earlier in the draft. Maybe he?s a 2026-27 rotation guy. I like that the fact that he can?t shoot the three didn?t stop Brad from selecting him.

Maybe Flemming is available at 32.

Two picks in the first left. Let's hope both bigs or Flemming are there tomorrow.

I?ll feel better if they take Kalk, Raynaud, Fleming or McNeely at 32. Otherwise meh

Was projected at 21

Gonzalez's Real Madrid is currently competing in the finals of the ACB playoffs, meaning he will not be able to conduct any workouts in the U.S. before the draft, as the series might potentially extend to June 30.

Gonzalez finished the regular season strong, but his minutes have since faded as the playoffs progressed, with him playing only 10 total minutes in the past four games. He is nonetheless a prospect that a team in the 20s probably will decide to select, thanks to the impressive physical tools, strong feel for the game and frenetic energy he brings defensively.

Utah has clear needs on the wing and could give him the type of runway needed to reach the significant potential he showed at every stage of his career before this season. -- Givony

I know nothing about him except what I have learned in the last five minutes. 19 years old. Nice and young. I watch some highlights. Hard to tell much not knowing the competition. But what I did see was that he moved really well without the ball. Always cutting. Always anticipating the play. Getting in position to receive a pass or get a rebound.

BOTH bigs AND Fleming still on the board to start round 2.

Boston can get one of them.

Different kind of player.
