Interesting pick.  The scouting reports I've read on Gonzalez don't really line up with the (lack of) opportunity he got at Real Madrid.  I'm hoping that's a function of high-level European ball being notoriously tough on young players rather than a lack of ability.  But scouts think he has real game.

I can buy in.  Let's get it.

Hugo was projected to go much earlier. Kid is a menace.

Now Boston needs the bigs to be on the board for round 2.

that is a good Q.   he averages 3points a game...

but ESPN can't stop talking about Wolf, they ignored our pick.

Nope. Just said he is coming over this year and the Cs are beyond happy he was there.

Hmm.  Well, I was underwhelmed with a late first-round pick of a guard from Oregon a few years ago, and that turned out well.  Maybe the scouts know what they're doing.  Certainly unexpected.

of all the years to draft for NEED, this was the year to do that.
Why didn't we get a big?

The Celtics select Hugo Gonzalez at No. 28 overall.

Gonzalez had lottery buzz entering the 2025 draft cycle before a quiet season occurred with Real Madrid.

Because neither are first round picks. Won't be surprised if both are there tomorrow at 32.

Gonzalez?  I'm feeling very underwhelmed
Vecenie called him an athletic tank with a big motor.  Shooting a big question.

you dont draft for need. you draft for talent and wait for it to develop.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
