And we thought the Mookie Betts trade was bad. What's this...part 2?

I'm sorry but this is HORRIFIC by the Red Sox, almost like the Luka trade.

Things were trending up, and then they go out and do this? And make no mistake, it's a salary dump by ownership. SF eating all the money while the Sox take back trash in return. PATHETIC.

What a 180. I felt so good after the Yankees sweep and right now we're technically right there for a wild card spot. But nope, I guess the front office and ownership doesn't care.

Once again, ownership sticks it to the fans. Made pretenses about investing in the team over the winter and then goes and does this.

When you can trade a potential MVP candidate for a pitcher with a 6.47 ERA, you've got to do it.

I was irritated by Devers' comments, but the reported return is scrub-level.

I'll actually argue the Betts trade was better than this Devers one. That's how BAD this Devers one is. Seriously, two pitchers, one with a 6.47 ERA, another around 4.50+. And not even any blue chip prospect of any sort? Meanwhile Devers was still one of the best hitters in baseball and still our best currently. Jesus...

What a horrendous trade. Henry didn?t want to pay him. Team won 8 out 10 and just swept the Yankees. Sell the team, John!  :blank:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Over on SoSH most posters (me too) are p---ed as hell. But even they admit the return is not bad at all. Harrison is 23 and looks to be a good pitcher, not a scrub at all. but I am still p---ed.

How??? Harrison is in year 3. He hasn?t had a good season yet. 7-7 last year with a 4.6 ERA. Doing about the same this year. Devers is 3rd in RBIs in all of MLB.   ???

SoSH loves to project kids' future. ;D. looking at his advanced stats and age they see potential. i read enough SoSH to defer, but i still do not like it.

oh, and some of the "good trade" arguments there include raffy's crappy fielding, lack of leadership, refusing to play 1B, and not running out balls lately...plus he salary.

again, i dont agree, but it is not as one-sided as it may appear....i hope.
