$25 million per season seems fair enough.  I never thought his $30 million ask was realistic.

If he plays like he did post trade deadline, he?s worth $30M/year. Great deal for Chicago. Josh is only 22 years old. A lot of upside.

Giddey's performances went to a higher level after the All-Star Break and the trade of All-Star guard Zach LaVine. The 6-foot-8 product shined as a leader of the Bulls, averaging 21.2 points, 10.7 rebounds and 9.3 assists on 50% shooting, including 46% on 3-pointers.

Giddey is one of the more fun players in the league. I love his passing. I hope he continues on like he did in the 2nd half of last season.

Sure.  But, his NBA career hasn't been like that to date.  Will that 18 game sample size provide an accurate assessment of his level of play, or is he closer to the 14 / 8 / 6 / .505 eFG% guy he's been the rest of his career?

There's risk for both sides, which makes it a fair deal.

Not sure if his shooting will be that good, but I expect Giddey to average 20/8/8 next year. His defense needs to get better, but overall he?s really talented. He won?t even hit his prime for another 4 years. Presti took him 6th overall for a reason.

Presti took him at #6.  He also traded him for a good role player that is 30 years old and that averaged 7/3/3 last year.

I didn?t like that trade. Caruso is a nice role player, but they should have gotten more just based on Giddeys upside, IMO. Rare blunder by Presti.

I didn't think Caruso was enough either (as I said on here at the time), but Caruso had a couple of massive games in the Finals and was a big part of the game 4 comeback win which basically won OKC the title. He had the 2nd best GameScore for the Thunder in that game at 19.9 nearly 3 higher than JWilliams at 17 (SGA was at 24).  Siakam led the Pacers at 20.5.  Caruso was a beast in game 4 and the Thunder needed him to be.  That 1 game alone made the trade worth it for the Thunder.

The NBA will implement a new change for the 2025-26 season: unsuccessful end-of-period heaves will now be recorded as a missed field-goal attempt for the team, not the player, sources tell ESPN. Those long heaves will no longer impact an individual player's percentages.

It is stupid.  And, it's fairly meaningless, because all of the teams and agencies have access to tracking data that already separates out that information. So, it's not affecting what these guys get paid. It's purely ego-driven window dressing..

They must do something similar with the end of the game, gentleman's 24 second violation too.

Luke's Slovenia against Germany on right now. Playing for a semi-final place. Upset is on the cards. 2nd half. Slovenia up a few points.

Germany were 13-14pt favourites. They have a strong team. Luka doesn't. But he is Luka!

Germany = F Wagner, Schroder, Theis, Obst, Tristan Da Silva, Isaac Bonga

Slovenia = Luka. Nobody else.

Prepelic with a huge 3 to put Slovenia up 9 as Q3 nears end. He appears to be the main shooting threat other than Luka. He is their 2nd leader scorer with 13pts (3 threes). Luka has 29pts. Nobody else in double digits.

Update: Tristan Da Silva hits a hail mary from his own half to beat the Q3 buzzer to cut a 7pt lead to 4pts heading into Q4.

2min with Luka sitting on the bench to end Q3 start Q4 saw a 7pt lead disappear. Tie game. Obst hits a ridiculous 3. Germany lead!

Slovenia are so bad outside of Luka. It is like a high school team that has one superb player and nothing else. They just give it to him and hope he can drag them to victory. Cannot compete otherwise.
