Collins just picked up his option in Utah.  I'd love to get Collins and Kessler in a 3 team deal moving Simons.

Can Simons and picks really get us those 2 players??

I think Simons could get us Collins. That might help balance, the roster some.  I don?t know about including Kessler though.  If we offer Simons for Collins, they might even send back a pick or something.  But probably not Kessler.

Kessler and J Collins do not play well together.

Kessler has no range. Collins doesn't shoot enough jumpers to stretch the floor properly alongside him. Collins wants to attack the rim. Kessler gets in the way because he is camped out in the paint since he can't make a shot from anywhere else.

Assuming they keep Gonzalez and whomever they draft at #32 the Celtics will have 14 players under contract after the draft. They'll have Horford, Craig and Kornet as free agents. My best guess is they re-sign Horford and Kornet, let Craig go, draft a center at #32 (Kalkbrenner or Raynaud) and then dump Niang somewhere for the salary savings.

Guards: White, Simons, Pritchard, Davidson
Wings: Brown, Hauser, Scheierman, Walsh, Gonzalez, Tatum(inj)
Bigs: Horford, Kornet, Queta, Tillman, #32Draftee

They'd go into next year with the option of maybe spinning off either Simons or Hauser for additional savings to MAYBE get completely under the tax before the trade deadline depending on how things look.

I just saw a video on IG that Tyrese Haliburton has never "gone left" during the postseason/Finals.

As in, he's only taking/scoring shots coming from the right. When he takes shots from the left, he missed all of them?

No wonder Tom Thibs got fired, he couldn't figure that out  ;)

I remember the announcers talking about this at the start of Game 7. Hali made a shot from the left side of the floor - maybe a 3 but a long jumper. It was the first shot he had made from the left side of the floor in the entire finals.

The only shots he had made before that were from the right wing.

I imagine this is Hali poking fun at himself for all his misses from the left wing during the Finals.

VanVleet 2 year $50mil extension.

Good contract. $25mil a year. Fair money. Top 20 PG.

Ideally, they could shed Niang, Davidson and Tillman to be able to resign Al, Kornet and if possible, Craig.  I like Craig's hustle and attitude.  not really a  core rotation player but capable of stepping in when needed to eat some minutes without hurting the team.

Yeah...Niang needs to go. He adds zero to this team. Hauser needs to stay over that bum.
Wouldn't mind seeing Walsh shipped out but he is still young. If you can draft a big, resign Al and Kornet, queta you can move Tillman as he is not needed.

Its possible they go into the season with both guys. They are currently projected to be about 4.5 million under the 2nd apron, but they might even start the season over it if they need to pay a bit extra to re-sign Horford and/or Kornet. But luckily apron and tax stuf is calculated based off the last day of the regular season, so they could easily start in the tax/2nd apron an see how things go before shedding or swapping out some combo of Hauser, Niang and Simons before the trade deadline. If Niang plays well here might even be able to get a 2nd rounder for him at the deadline.

It's also possible that the current KP/Niang trade is expanded before it becomes official on July 6th. They could find another team to take Niang entirely as part of the dela and generate an even bigger TPE from Porzingis.

Magic Johnson: You saw Mark let Jeanie stay on the Board of Governors. That was smart. One thing that is smart about Jeanie is she was never going to say, Oh, the Lakers are up for sale! Anybody can own them. That?s not who she is. She wasn?t going to put it in anybody?s hands. And I think because of the success of the Dodgers and how he has run the organization, now it?s easy for the fans. We already know him. We?ve seen his work already. We?ve seen what he?s been able to do, led us to a couple of World Series [wins] and going to the World Series four times. That?s success right there. That?s what Laker fans are looking for. He?s got a track record. This is what Laker fans would want, somebody that they can trust, just like they trusted Dr. Buss. They trusted Jeanie because of her father saying, This is who I want in charge. So, this is beautiful for all Laker fans.via Los Angeles Times

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Better. Hauser is such a good fit with the J?s, he?s only 27 and is on a very team friendly deal.
