Lakers receive : Jaylen Brown

Celtics receive : Austin Reaves, first overall pick in the 2026 draft

Brown would be perfect compliment to Luka and the old wizard too. but, there is no way to make that financially work. I don't even believe they have the salary to send back for Brown beyond Luka which of course they would not do. Not many teams do.

The Bucks could take Brown for their star. Who else? The Suns for an aging KD. I would avoid sending Brown to the Heat as Riley would love to bring in a few superstars again but he needs one to begin that march again.

Lakers have lots of $10m+ contracts. I believe they will still be under the second apron and can aggregate salaries in the off-season. Or they could shed a bit of salary before the trade.

What are the top college prospects looking like this year? If there's a generational talent there i think you have to make the trade.

I'm not sure what the Bucks' plans are. They aren't a very smart organization...

They don't control any of their picks for a few years. So tanking doesn't really help unless they trade with one of tge teams that own their picks.

But i don't see how they can contend if they trade Giannis. Lillard has negative value right now.

I would still prioritize youth and picks in any trade if I'm Milwaukee. And open up some cap space. No point in getting back just enough talent for a first-round exit.

Wish we could send JB to Houston and reunite with Ime.

Give us Amen Thompson, Reed Sheppard, and whatever filler. Maybe Dillon Brooks?

They might bite on that and JB can go somewhere and compete and be the man. I think Thompson will ultimately be the better player and by the time Tatum comes back he would be improved. Sheppard has some upside as well

Kyrie and AD need to convince Mavs Ownership to trade Flagg for JB...C's tank for top 5 pick in 2026 and we're set.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I doubt the money would work on that but I think Houston would be crazy to trade Thompson for Brown.

I'm having trouble figuring out how we get much value out of either KP or Jrue, the two most tradable players. We are essentially forced to trade at least one of them, which doesn't put us in the best of bargaining positions. Holiday has 3 more years (player option 27-28), so we would have to find a win-now team that is also willing to hold onto a contract that will increasingly suck at an exponential rate. At least with KP, he's an expiring contract next year, so we might as well hold onto him until the trade deadline and hope that he is healthy. We'd be selling very low on him right now.

I'm not excited about the idea of trading Jaylen Brown simply because he is our best chip right now. We wouldn't get close to fair value for him, and that would leave us with Jrue, Derrick and Porzingis all in the early to mid 30s by the time Tatum got back, without much in the way of a youth movement.

I'm hoping Brad can work his magic, but it could be a really tough few years.

I think Thompson is as close to untouchable for Houston.

They might try with Jalen Green, Brooks, and 1-2 role players (like a Jabari Smith or Whitmore) + pick(s), but I would not do that for Jaylen either. Green is very frustrating and inconsistent as well.
