Very disappointed with this loss. Celtics were taking all of Knicks punches and we?re punching back, up until Tatum decided to play hero ball and hold the ball for 15 seconds before doing anything. Completely destroyed the flow of the game.

Also we do the hack the big man all games but when Knicks are getting streaky on a roll, we don?t do it? It would have been the perfect time to slow them down and break their momentum.

Just bad, sloppy, unwise basketball.

You know who does that?  Poorly coached teams. Period.

I?m a pretty big critic of Tatum when it?s warranted?simply not warranted after last nights game, don?t even care if he was playing hero ball?the rest of the team was trash bud

Yes it still is. Celtics were on track to lose by 10 before the injury in part due to his hero ball. If there no injury still down 3-1. Doesn?t matter how much you score, loss is a loss and his play was part of that. Cannot dismiss that. I suppose you can but at the end of the day you lose. Obviously coaching is a part too but we were headed down the road of another 4th Q Tatum not good enough. 42 or no 42.

What was the plan then? Nobody else was doing anything. Tatum was going toe to toe with the Knicks in the 4th with just insane high level shooting. The hero ball at the end of the 3rd was annoying, but he more than made up for it.

The Knicks were making everything in the 2nd half. The Celtics 3rd rated defense was getting burned on every possession and nobody but Tatum could do anything on offense. How anybody could come away from last night's game thinking it was Tatum's fault is mindblowing. The game was over after KP bricked those two FTs. There's only so much one man can do to will a team to victory if nobody else is coming along for the ride

There was no other options than Tatum on offense.

Brown was simply the Knicks best player.

Al was cooked

Jrue cooked

KP awful.

Got a little help from White but the rest of the rotation was a no show.

Haven't felt this low since the KG knee injury in 2009 when the Cs were rolling and the Hayward leg injury which derailed everything.

Feel like this might continue the derailing.

For whatever reason this Cs team just did not have it mentally to climb the mountain again.

Tbh though even before the Tatum injury this series was not looking good. Not taking anything from the Knicks, but I do feel this series has been way more about Boston choking than NY actually being great. Celtics only have themselves to blame. Unlike others even if they were down 3-1 with Tatum healthy I do not think this team would have comeback from it.

This team is frontrunnery. All good when the 3s are falling and they are up big but in a tight game they look tight themselves while Brunson and the Knicks look way better. Same thing last night the final 15 minutes

Agree. Just never got that mentality needed to win again. I thought they would at least win the East and then lose to the Thunder in the finals. Celtics have played poorly against a very beatable team in the Knicks. Nothing NY has done has surprised me. Pretty much who they are.

The poor play by Boston has been the issue.

How can the rest of the team do anything if they are not getting the opportunity. I could see the team just standing around when he got in that mode. At one point, Tatum shot a contested 3 while White was asking for the ball wide open. He made an incredible shot but getting the whole team involved would have been better, especially coming into the 4th quarter.

100%

NY far and away the worst team left in the competition. This was an easy series for Boston. A weak opponent + they matchup extremely well with this weak opponent.

NY didn't beat Boston. Boston lost to NY.

They choked.

I feel like Game 1-3 were that way.  Last night the Knicks shot the lights out under pressure.  I give them a ton of credit for last night.  The Celtics shot decent percentage from the field and 3's and got way more free throws.
