I still believe in the Celtics making this comeback?down 0-2, backs against the wall, but this team has the grit to respond. That said, I cant help but worry that Tatum is playing through a wrist injury. At times, his wrist looks off?like he's favoring it, not quite himself. Am I really the only one noticing this? Its crazy that the media hasn't picked up on it.

Before that wrist issue in the Orlando series, he was locked in- classic Tatum, dominant and fluid. Since then, something's changed. He's still battling, but you can tell it's not at 100%. And let's be real? he's the kind of warrior who won't admit anything until the season's over. He's got that Larry Bird DNA: fight through the pain, no excuses.

I believe we'll see the best version of the Celtics rise in the next game?but Tatum?s wrist could be the X-factor nobody's talking about.

Thoughts?

I just don't want to put Jayson Tatum in the same breath or sentence as Larry Bird. Never.

you cannot blow 20 point leads TWICE in the semis and expect to advance. you just cant. we should be up 2-0. now we are in a deep hole so deep.

I agree we are in a hole but I don't think it is that deep of a hole. A 2-0 deficit significant but given the matchup this is still a winnable series.

I would be more worried if the opponent was different. If we were playing Indiana, a healthy Cleveland, or OKC. Somebody like that.

But NY? No. Not worried about NY. This Celtics team can easily win 4 out of 5 against this Knicks squad. The matchups are heavily in their favour. Heck, they almost won the first 2 games despite playing like a crap. NY hasn't shown themselves to be able to beat even an average Celtics performance nevermind a good Celtics performance.

No prediction but Game 3 is still pivotal.  If the Knicks win, it's likely over.  If the C's win, it's a series.  I still believe the C's are a top tier team, but the competition this year makes me doubt that they'll win it all.  But beating the Knicks in this series is very possible.

What the TNT crew said Game 3 is a must-win game for New York. I think NYK wants it more.

I said it last night. There's 2 playoff games that are memerable from him. He has more series where he's a no-show than THE guy.
It's time we stop talking about him among he celtic greats until he actually does great things consistently. All these stats are fluff as far as I'm concerned.

Do I believe we can win this series?  Yes.  The knicks are not impressive.  We are beating ourselves.

Do I believe in this team?  Not really.  I believed in last year?s team 100%.  This year they lack focus and aren?t close to last years level.  And we have to overcome Mazzula?s incompetence.

What is the difference? Why did you believe in last year's team but not this year's team?

Last year they were motivated by what had happened the previous 2 playoffs. This season they look too comfortable because they have won a title. They are playing some arrogant basketball. There is no grit or killer instinct with this team. I don't see any fire in this team so far.

He is playing through pain and it will take 3-6 months to fully heal. it cannot heal while playing basketball. Multiple news reports including Joe have said it was a severe bone bruise injury. Even with the fastest of healing, that is still 2-3 months if he rested.

A severe bone bruise in the wrist can take several months to heal, potentially 3 to 6 months or longer, depending on the severity of the injury and individual healing factors. While the pain may start to subside within weeks, the complete healing of the bone may take several months.

https://www.celticsblog.com/2025/4/24/24415793/jayson-tatums-wrist-injury-joe-mazzulla-celtics-magic-game-3

Joe clearly says it is a severe bone bruise when it happened. this means, no 100 percent Tatum until next season and if this is the case, our offense should be adapting to the current injury. and, are there long term risks with playing through this kind of injury as well?

It was really bad. They screamed every time the Knicks did something even when down 20.

I get that they haven't been as good as last year but they still won 61 games this season. They haven't been that bad. They have still been very good this year.

Certainly better than NY.
